It is because I found your channel that I had the courage to learn design after many years of being afraid of it. Thank you for creating valuable content!

Thanks so much. As a graphic designer too, I particularly love what you said about doing personal projects even without briefs.

about the rest and burnout: do you have any tips for someone who is easily overstimulated? bc when i work from 10 am - 4 pm, i feel veeeery tired after and i barely have any energy left for my hobbies or having fun :(((( even though i really want to :(

Yeah I agree with everything and the shots in different locations was a great idea. I love these long talks about problems and stuff we would talk about in a break in the office you know? Keep them coming!

treating design as art can be burdensome, especially in the areas of work you've experienced (commercial/agency stuff). it's motivating to see that it hasn't broken you and instead pushed you forward. can't wait to see what projects come next

I feel that! Def had my soul crushed a few times at the office haha. Nothing wrong with clocking in and clocking out as long as you get other fulfillment on your own time outside of work🫡

19:25 onwards. My mother's partner used to be a graphic designer and phto & text/font layout editor (in Germany we called them Grafiker/ Gestalter and Foto- und Textsetzer). I specifically remember him cutting out shapes and even text fonts by hand from red foil taped on white, thicker foil sheets with a scalpel. I think the red foil acted as negative space (or black mask). It's strange how I got into graphic design and digital art more seriously only 2 years ago (in my fourties) and long after the passing of Mum's partner. So while GD didn't enter my conscious mind until then, I would like to think that subconsciously Peter had an influence on me. And knowing how spoilt we are with all these digital tools at our disposal, I have gained a new level of respect for his work. I'm sure he would have absolutely loved working digitally if he was still around. Thank you for your insights. I have been enjoying your videos, Jesse, especially the ones where you mix analog and digital techniques to add texture/distress/grunge etc. Have a good one!
