main difference between doing your own site and gumroad/creative market is that you are not gonna hear about transaction disputes, download issues or server issues if you use an existing marketplace but on your own site you are gonna be spending time working out why a 2011 macbook running internet explorer can't download your zip file or dealing with a kid who used their parent's credit card to buy your stuff etc etc etc

I just looked at your portfolio website. Very creative and inspiring. I love your photo cut-out designs. I studied graphic design at university, but was unsuccessful at the time (2008 during the recession). I have been a teacher for over 12+ year now and wish to get back into graphic design through being a freelancer. I'm currently 36 years old. The internet is much different now that what it was back in 2008. I plan to start up for portfolio again and try to get some side jobs as a freelancer. I will still be a teacher as my main source of income. Do you think I would be possible to get back into designing as a freelancer after such a long break? Thanks.

There is fan merch about shows or media people like, or a personal belief or struggle people go through, maybe just a cool design but there’s seemingly gotta be some hook that aims at a certain type of person or audience. And personally I’m finding it hard asking myself why I’d wanna buy a print with these parameters, therefore why’d someone else want this?
