This is very informative, but not all black men or fathers are in jail. I have about 5 to 6 black friends who are surgeons and 5 CEO of multi billion dollars companies . My point here is it is usually low self-esteem, which makes mixed kids doubt who they are and really understand their unique mix that is for only them and not everyone.

@BaroqueBlues lol, you're crazy. She's the best-looking person in this video by far. Her lips aren't even that big, which is another thing that western society values as a beauty standard.

If you have giant teeth lips & gums & they all show at the same time. That isn't attractive. 🐴

Half-Japanese, half Caucasian Canadian here, born and raised in Canada. I really enjoyed the video as I rarely get the chance to hear the opinions and experiences of other mixed Japanese people, and it definitely had me thinking about a lot of things regarding my own identity and values. Definitely think Kaikun is onto something when he talked about mixed kids with Japanese fathers having a more Japanese personality, as my sibling and I are both much more shy compared to my mother who is extremely outgoing 🤣 For the dating someone from an international background question, I would likely take a middle ground simply because in my experience, being from an international background has not always equated to a better/healthier relationship. I'm currently in a relationship with a Japanese girl who's never been abroad, and despite the language barrier (my Japanese is around JLPT N2), I feel like we can communicate more effectively with one another than with my previous partners who were fluent in English and came from an international background. When we started dating we were able to set the expectation that if there was ever an issue/concern/etc, that we should just be direct about any concerns before they become bigger problems, and talk it out with one another calmly to come to a solution or compromise. This sounds like common sense, but especially recently I've noticed more and more people who struggle to have a more 'heavy' discussion without it becoming a competition or debate of sorts. We're on the same team trying to solve a problem, not playing against one another to prove who's in the wrong. This expectation also helped relieve much of the conversational ambiguity that comes from Japanese 'tatemae', allowing us to get straight to the point and nip any issues in the bud, so to speak. Longer reply than I was expecting to write, but it's something that has been on my mind a lot lately and thought it would be an interesting perspective to share.

In Japanese you just say your nationality. If people ask, are curious, or it’s necessary for context then you explain in my experience. People have assumed for me I’m from the US, Africa, or rarely even half (when I speak Japanese), then I say, “No I’m American, but one of my parents is from [insert African country]. It’s honestly not as much of a focus like it is in the United States which is pretty refreshing for me. I’m my American nationality first. Personal context I’ve lived in Japan for about 6 months over the years and lived in a share house with tons of Japanese people and others of mixed backgrounds.

Just to make a comment about the question of dating someone with an international background and I think it was Alex's comment of preferring someone who has experienced being a minority, you don't have to live outside your country of origin to have experienced being a minority, especially if you live in a diverse country like the US. I've met white people who grew up in Hawaii who's experienced being a minority (aka bullied for being different) among predominantly Asian kids. I've heard about white farm workers who's surrounded by Mexican laborers and being treated as a minority.

What language are they speaking? Who looks more different half blc and white, persian or half chinese fillipino japanese? Asians can't even tell asians apart. So them being the most different especially with many positive and negative stereotypes especially being a more minority than half Chinese should have a voice

@@Jackku9I didn’t notice before, but they’re right. There’s no south asian, african, latin american halfs. Not that it’s mandatory, but would be nice to see. Filipinos are brown and look different from Japanese, I’m sure they can tell sometimes.
@Jackku9Күн бұрын
@fp_m13 ofc but I'm watching this from a continental view. The reason why it's not spoken, they are many videos on them btw, and the problem is having a darker skin tone and classism for filipinos and other asians usually being more discriminative to south east. Back to my point, the reason they are not spoken is because firstly the persons are western, if a filipino or Chinese wanna make a video on their views living in japan, they're more than free to. Secondly, they can integrate much more easier because they look similiar. What do u think about half indian japanese? Sure, they're asian but they look completely different and wouldn't integrate as fast as a mongoloid person would. But there should be a voice for all minorities, I agree. As well as how the japanese feel.
@Jackku9Күн бұрын
Genetically western meaning white ppl and black ppl, those were the 2 of the 3 main ppls in the Americas (North and South American) and the last is ofc the natives or indigenous ppl. Respect to them. An East asian who's westernised will be the same as an asian of mongoloid descent coming to Japan, the most they usually face according to videos of ppl who parents or grandparents from there is mainly letting their family or japanese ppl down with speaking broken japanese and perhaps not knowing the customs but integrating will be easier if they're japanese and if not then they'll just be treated as Chinese or whatever their background is, just the exception of them speaking Spanish English etc.
