Well.. actually I am not that good as well. I used my guitar to match the chords that Jesse is playing.. it was kinda harder because he is playing mandolin which have different timbre than a guitar and the notes are overall higher in pitch. But notes and chords are the same for all instruments.It just takes some ear training and practice to be able to hear the notes better and distinct them from one another.. just try to transcribe some songs by yourself and concentrate on the sound. It takes time, but practice is the way to go. I learned alot from JustinGuitar. He also has some course on Ear Training as well. Good luck.

Its really sad.... In a few of his songs, he basically makes premonitions of his own death. Jokingly making references to over-dosing on heroin. Those premonitions came true. I remember back in my teenage day, my friends and I also made jokes about doing heroin, and over-dosing. We thought it was all so funny then, before any of us actually became heroin addicts. We were innocent, and naïve. I can tell you, it quickly stopped being funny once I realized the jokes became a reality. RIP to Jesse. He is one of many that was lost far too soon.
