Bravo for taking both cameras! Some super images, especially the fiddleheads. Our kids are hard at it at the farm in Newfoundland, but sales are going well at the farmers market. Cheers!

This is a wonderful video! Thank you. I enjoy seeing you use your Mamiya RB-67 and the Yashica TLR. My Dad gave me a Yashica D TLR which I used through High School and as the campus newspaper photographer while in college. Of course, it has been all digital for the last many years however recently I got out my Mamiya 645, loaded it with some Kodak Ektar 100 film and am thinking, watching, and planning where I can make photos that interest me. Your videos are an inspiration to me. You have excellent presentation skills, and the video is outstanding. Thank you!

Great to hear a familiar voice and see a familiar face!!! Been busy on the farm? Love your pics, as usual😁 Been shooting a lot of Colour Plus lately, with a bit of Ektar and Gold as well. Shot some Gold, today. I've got about 8 films in the fridge ready for processing. Just ordered some replacement film and I'll shoot a bit of B&W soon. Got some Foma 100 to run through the camera. Might go into town on the weekend and do that😊 Anyway, good to see you back and hope it's not too long before your next video comes out!!

Have missed your content these last few months but do understand about the farm and farming. Hope that this Fall gives you a bit more time. Rain is something we could here in our area too. It is dry and brown as brown can be.
@JessHobbs2 жыл бұрын
I do hope to start filming again soon, especially as the cooler fall months settle in! We've had very good amounts of rainfall this year after all, so I really can't complain. I was scared at the beginning of the season because we didn't have much snowpack from the winter, and the woods seemed so dry early on, but now they are lovely and damp! Hope you get your much-needed rain! Thanks for watching!! ❤️

Excellent as always! Loving the Gold 200 shots certainly a film for spring! Although I am keeping rolls back for the fall (and one for Holga Week).

Thanks Alex, I really appreciate that! I do like Kodak Gold in the spring, I will definitely be keeping some in 120 always on hand! I tend to shoot a lot of Ektar in the fall, but I might get some more Gold just in case! Oh, and Gold and a Holga are a match waiting to happen, can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for watching! ❤️

Beautiful shots Jess. I really need to make more use of the woodland near my home, there's a few Maple trees that light up in the fall and I don't want to miss it this year.
@JessHobbs2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Jim, I really appreciate that! I'm definitely an advocate for taking a walk in the woods, either with a camera or without! But there is definitely something to be said for maple trees in the fall, a favourite subject of mine! Can't wait to see what you capture! Thanks for watching! ❤️

Wonderful vid Jess, I missed you! Trust you got the rain and have had a good growing season. In Alberta we got a lot of rain this year in the early summer and then it's gone bone dry and hot hot. Looking forward to your next video!

Thanks Terry, I really appreciate that! We did get the rain, and we've actually had a very healthy amount of rain this season! Thanks Aly! I feel the same way about the RB, the bellows extension really allows for a lot of close-up work that other cameras just can't do. The lenses are fantastic too, it's really the perfect camera. Thanks for watching! ❤️
@AlysVintageCameraAlley2 жыл бұрын
@@JessHobbs definitely. Do you recommend any lenses? I only have the 90
@JessHobbs2 жыл бұрын
@@AlysVintageCameraAlley I have the 65mm, 90mm, and 180mm. I use the 90mm the most, but the 180mm is a very close second. I love how the 180mm compresses the background and can really make your subject pop. All of my "close-up" work is done with the 90mm, I should try some with the 65mm one day. I also plan on getting the 50mm and 127mm lenses... and probably the 250mm, because at that point I might as well collect them all, lol!
@erichstocker83582 жыл бұрын
Jess I have been meeting to ask you. Do you push shutter button manually to bring up the mirror and then use the shutter release cable to trip the shutter in the lens? I notice you only have a single cable release. I have one of those double cable release. However, I think I like the simplicity of your single cable release approach.

So funny to see the Yashica is as big as a RB lens. Are you very far from the big cities?
@JessHobbs2 жыл бұрын
Haha, the Yashica is tiny compared to the RB67! The farm is about 1 hour away from Montreal, and 2 hours from Quebec City. It's halfway between two smaller cities, which are about 30 minutes away in each direction. The town we're in has a population of 6000 people, so definitely not a big town! Thanks for watching! ❤️

Thank so much! Farming is seriously a whole other topic by itself, there's too much to unpack there. If you are interested in seeing more of the farm though, my fiancé (who is also the filmmaker) has his own YT channel about our adventures, he's Jody Farms. Thanks for watching! ❤️
