@mossoconnor44172 жыл бұрын
A shame? It’s good, makes powerlifting fun. Competition is always good, and it’s not like Agata’s bench is a zero rom abomination, it’s a pretty good rom still and a great powerful press for a fairly lightweight girl. Like they said, tops the bench only world record which is awesome in after low bar squatting in a full meet.
@2caiden4u2 жыл бұрын
yes, but the longer arms allow her to be better at deadlifts, limb lengths are give and take.
@Req5662 жыл бұрын
@@2caiden4u Ye i understand that concept and i agree with u completly. I just wish Jessica was capable of improving her bench to around 115/120 kg which i dont think she can do. Thats why im saying its such a shame.

@@lexxlittle7989 i know, that was the question to addressed to sumo haters
@luh3182 жыл бұрын
No, that is actually not true and she has addressed it many times. She cannot do more weight in sumo, as she tried but her best at sumo does not get even that close to her best in conventional. Each person is built differently, one can be better at conventional and other at sumo, it only depends on the proportions of the body like arm's and leg's length and other factors. If this misconception of sumo being easier were true, why some powerlifters would do conventional against sumo lifters knowing that they have an advantage?

Can someone explain the bent back bench for me please as it looks just like a cheat way to move the bar less
@fabiank4852 жыл бұрын
It's within the rules that you can bend your back. The shoulder blades and the but have to be on the bench. So it's not cheating
@Serchi_2 жыл бұрын
Arching your back to some degree when benching is good practice as it protects your shoulders. However, powerlifters take it to an extreme to, as you said, reduce the range of motion of the bench as much as they can.
@luh3182 жыл бұрын
It is well known in the literature that the arch is actually the best way to do bench press because it can help prevent injuries on the spine. Aside from that, it is also a way of moving the bar less of course, specially because women are less strong on this lift. But as every women do this arch it is not cheat move because everyone is equally arched.
