If she just turned up at Xialing's place, she wouldn't even need an introduction for people who didn't watch the Netflix shows. It's such a natural fit. She's been in an underground fighting ring before. She's an enhanced fighter. The audience can infer how they might know each other, and there's a super easy reason to establish her powers. Like, here she is, she's a fighter, she's got powers, the rest will fall into place as needed. Then it's just a matter of letting the audience get to know the character like they would any other character who doesn't have those elements.

@@davidn.3017 Season 1 was weak. Not because of her character. She was consistently good in it, and season 2 was a huge improvement. If the MCU needs an iron fist, it would make sense to bring back Colleen instead of Danny, or to briefly bring back Danny just to kill him off and pass the torch to her. In spite of all the flaws of that show, Colleen Wing is a character worth bringing back if the story calls for it. It would make sense now that the canon floodgates have been officially opened and the underground superpowered martial arts scene has been established.

Colleen as the main Iron Fist would be great. I hope they bring her back in the fold. The series ended with her being the crime-fighter by the end so I really think it would fit nicely and Danny could still exist elsewhere just travelling or finding his way back into K'un-Lun.

Her & Danny both had the power of the iron fist at the end of season 2. They need a real Asian/American actor as Danny though. That was the problem with the show & poor fight scenes. @@mikejaxx7791 Danny Rand was never an asian-american so they don't really need to change anything and it wasn't "the problem" with the show so much as it was the writing/execution. And why do they even need to change Danny's race anyway? Because he's associated to martial arts? If so , then that only furthers the asian stereotype brought up in this conversation. Part of Danny Rand's character was being a white guy of privilege who's thrust into an ancient culture where he's essentially stripped off everything and has to prove himself by working extra hard in a foreign land to be worthy of the Iron Fist. It won't be right to take that away, and I say this as an asian guy myself.

@@mikejaxx7791 yes, I often advocate for keeping things as close as *reasonably* possible to the source as it's always important to keep the essence of these characters intact. Diversity is necessary and can be good but diversity for diversity's sake and done at the expense of what a character is about is a no-no for me. Like for example, "The Batman" changing Gordon and Catwoman's race for me is perfectly fine because it doesn't affect the core of their characters but to change someone like Iron Fist who's race is pivotal to his character and story would be like changing Black Panther to a white guy. It won't be the same person in essence. Shang-Chi has already been updated perfectly to provide the asian-american perspective that you're asking for and he exists as the other side of the coin opposite Danny Rand's. In my opinion, having them team-up and be friends like in the comics is the way to go because there's opportunity to explore the dynamic of two characters with opposite origins but yeah, I'm not sure that's what the studio wants for the character of Shang-Chi.
