Wow! I was 20 yrs. old when i saw her in the movie theater in Francis. Her performance was powerful ,intense ,mult-layered, and ultimately heartbreaking. Some of her quiet moments so intense, and that voice filled with emotion. It's hard to pictures other doing that except Meryl Streep. Knowing Jessica wanted play the lead in Sophie's Choice, is interesting, as I can see her, yet Meryl Streep played it to perfection. Jessica I have loved in almost every film, and one TV movie. I have not seen her American Horror story and other stuff. She is my favorite American actress Then Meryl Streep.

She ended up getting nominated for both Frances AND Tootsie (winning for Tootsie) (Streep won for Sophie's Choice, no one else had a chance that year, it was like De Niro and Raging Bull). She won for Tootsie, but she really won for Frances, or Frances AND Tootsie. Great interview!!!

I always felt that Jessica and Meryl were the Bette Davis and Katharine Hepburn of their generation. Like Bette, Jessica was the strongest actress of the two but the media was laser focused on Streep and pushed her as the ultimate actress just like Hepburn
