got her blasphemy album and really didn't like it. this is what i like about her, just the acoustic guitar and her voice. none of the drums, electric guitar, bass, all the junk that takes away from the tiny inflections in her voice that create real emotion.

She's amazing! She has soul and substance. I haven't felt this way about an artist in quite some time. Heard her on Father's Day on PHC while driving in the middle of nowhere Alaska. Thank you, Garrison K.!

Like a flower, stem bent, petals bruised and nibbled upon, a random petal scorched by the sun,....but a radiant blossom reaches towards the sky, it's beauty heightened in contrast by the broken earth from which it struggled to free itself.

She's so fucking brilliant! Every other song that she sings makes me cry, even bawl. I'm crying right now as I hear this. I saw her last night, it was mesmerizing!

I was listening to The Avett Brothers singing this and found out it was a cover. Now I hear the original...it's great. I enjoy it as much as theirs.

The Avett Brothers version is far superior.

Christopher of the Stubbs family I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you. The dorko brothers couldn’t write songs like this if their lives depended on it. Don’t make me laugh.

I think they were affirming the way she looks, not being negative. Way to incorrectly spell offensive language though. Go ask mom for a cookie and simmer down.

@Medium0Rare being a "hipster" or not is a label people put on others because they care what people think of them. the only thing that matters is if you like the song(or the band,movie,show ect). the real world has fewer and fewer labels thees days except the ones we create to make ourselves feel superior to others. grow up and see all the shads of gray.

I love this song! It's about a guy in a relationship with a girl he cares nothing about, but she loves him. And the guy wants to get out of the relationship b/c it is holding him back. But he will let the girl "hold" him for another day because he just wants some. I totally get this song, it describes most of my relationships. * Song could also be about a girl, I just relate to it as a guy

@onlyeyesabove I play guitar too. And saxophone, clarinet, bass, and I sing. I have played guitar for about 14 years and spent 8 of those in semi-professional and touring bands (now I'm just trying to sound pretentious myself. In my opinion, in certain contexts, being slightly out of tune adds character to a song. Also, this isn't a live performance, per se. It's a live studio recording, or so it says in the title.

So, why is it gay that I think a woman can write and sing a great song?
@blahhayden11 жыл бұрын
her lyrics! her voice! She should be the standard of western-influenced pop culture...not Taylor Swift. Jessica has raw talent, and she doesn't ride her looks for fame. Ah what a find!

Are these the meanings you find? Or is that what the artist said?

It's in quite a few videos from that time. Jessica plays it in some stuff on the crackerfarm channel, and I think a few other people might use it in some videos on that channel too. Regardless, I like how mellow it is.

I heard this at Starbucks. I had to ask the guy behind the counter what this was. He gave me a post-it note with her name on it with my coffee. That is a fantastic guitar. She seems to be right up there with Iron & Wine.
