They may not have the name anymore, but Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee are every bit as iconic as you remember. The former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions discuss the blessing and curse of their shared release, Jess' ice-queen American accent and what exactly "Off Her Chops" means in an emotional Oral Sessions interview.

Kinda crushes me to see Jessie McKay looking sad. Been a fan since her Shimmer days. But I don't think WWE ever used them to their full potential, so I fully believe their best days are still ahead of them. Hang in there! :)

WWE splitting up an established women’s tag team when they were trying to keep a women’s tag division going and then not doing anything major with them individually was always a bad sign in terms of possibly being released. I hope they do well in whatever they do next though as I find them really entertaining.

I swear they make decisions on the fly about EVERYTHING, sometimes for no good sensible reason. I thought it was just the show re-writes right before Raw or Smackdown. Nope, it’s personnel moves, too. Crazy how reactionary they are sometimes as an organization.

@@mister_bailey yeah exactly, they do too much short term booking to temporarily pop a rating (a lot of the time with veterans of yesteryear and old talent) instead of doing what they did well at their peak - developing new stars and booking good long term stories

Couldn't stand the Iiconics at first - I found them SO obnoxious (a testament to just how good they were), but by the end, I absolutely adored them. They deserved better than being broken up, languishing, and eventually being released (especially Jess, who was absolutely OVER). I want nothing but success (and green cards) for Cass & Jess.

I agree and the the fact that WWE wouldn't help them get green cards is ridiculous! Considering all the non-talent they've had/have they must stepped in a more than a few times over the years. There are companies that do that heck my local pizza place did and they don't have billions of dollars.

@@Runny117 they'd be perfect for AEW. what i would do in booking them is during a tag match between FTR and orange cassidy/chuck taylor. two masked figures come in to create a distraction and then attack kris statlander. FTR wins the match as the pinnacle arrive and confront the 2 masked figures who unmask and it's them. the pinnacle are overjoyed. a week later, the pinnacle announces that they've expanded with FTR saying "why have one great tag team when you can have two?" they come to the ring and announce that they're taking over the women's division and then go into some feuds. then they deal with tay conti who beats one of them in a singles match only for conti to be attacked and then anna jay returns as the first of a series of battles between the iinspiration and tayjay begins.

@@williammccormick2802 it's 100% correct, they won't push someone when they think they are gonna quit the federation to be with the husband. That's why they break the ''Iconics'' who clearly are better as a team cause they are bad at solo except Kay can give you some really good comedy stuff but Peyton have tough time at the mic but she's the better wrestler of the two. WWE always did that when they think the wrestler will quit. They just won't push them and they are easy release. WWE have been terrible with the release thought lately and it helps other federation so that's fine. WWE was too stacked anyway and they still are. I would take Aleister Black to WWE thought but he'll be good in AEW and could even becomes a AEW World champ due to the lack of talents which was impossible in WWE so it's great for him and i'm happy he continue that WWE storyline cause it was good.

Neither of them are particularly great in the ring, but they are both stunningly beautiful and are fantastic on promos. They have so much to offer any promotion. They are so funny together that the in-ring part isn't even that important for them. Billie proved that at the end of her WWE run. She was getting more popular than she had even been, and she wasn't even wrestling. They can get over without it, and they both improved in the ring during their time with WWE, so there is no reason to think that they won't get better. I don't understand why WWE let them go. They have so much upside, especially when compared to some of the women that are still on the main roster in WWE. I hope they find a company that will allow them to go out together and do their thing. They will be successful.

Jessie McKay was a mainstay at Shimmer. Watching her live, I couldn't understand why WWE wasn't signing her - she was the total package. I'm happy for everything she's accomplished in her career.

The Iconics were the ONLY tagteam in WWE that I can recall in the last few years. I'd have released the belts before releasing the only team.

I was never a fan of these 2 but I can see that they had a passion and still have a love of wrestling. They made their dreams come through by making it to the WWE. I don't think they will read this comment but just know you didn't fail The WWE, The WWE Failed You.

The Dudley Boyz are the Dudley boyz and the Iconics are the Iconics. It was criminal to split them, end of.
