Very brave of her to sing a role that very few sopranos can sing with anything even resembling proper Rossinian technique, let alone even singing all the notes properly. She does a yeoman's job here but cannot touch Callas in presenting Rossini at his most challenging. She is a great singer but no one can ever match the absolute mastery of Callas in this aria.

Yeah i get it. But in a way, its telling a singer they will never be good enough and its disrespectful. Its okay to be critical..often times i say what i like and dont like. I never compare to another singer because its all a snapshot of that person's physical health, emotional wellbeing, artistic inspiration, pathos in that particular moment in time..thats beauty of opera. i think jessica knows she will never be callas. Proper rossinian technique? How do we know Callas even sung it in proper rossinian technique. Rossini was long dead when callas performed it. What if he actually liked Jessica's version instead of callas? Lol im joking and being crude. My point, all this callas stuff is truly bias and it minimises the wonderful artists we have. By all means criticise and have your favorites but can we be respectful and appreciative at the same time?

nel panorama attuale vera patuit dea! Tuttavia la coloratura a volte imprecisa e peggio aspirata,funziona in alto alto :Un lirico leggero per questi ruoli non è il massimo,poi un'orchestra atroce....
