I saw Jessica Pratt live in memphis. She is truly mesmerizing. Her voice is quiet, but clear and pure and very interesting to listen to and I love that her sound is refreshing yet nostalgic. Very special artist here.

+Ryan Cook I agree. Kids are too busy spending money on cell phones and video games to support good music. And if they DO listen to music, they rip it off... sad, but they deserve what they get... no record stores, and the wort top 40 imaginable.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Most singers put on affectations, generally to sound like some famous or influential singer (Billie, Vaughan, Sinatra, Vedder, etc.). She puts on an affectation to sound a bit odd, or different. I like the latter kind of affectation a lot more than the former.

I was the same way at first, but I'm used to it now, and love this song for its melodic and harmonic beauty. Her earlier 2012 album doesn't have this kind of voice if you're interested in listening to it. It's very pretty

I gotta say, I appreciate this album far less than it's predecessor. I also don't appreciate the way her mouth moves while she sings....it reminds me of Jason Mewes or something.
