David Hill just like how past seasons, particularly seasons 7-10 of this circus-of-a-show called American Idol were rigged in favor of a f*ckin' white guy with a f*ckin' guitar with mediocre to no talent and gift when it comes to vocal ability. Watching these past AI episodes makes me realize how "The Voice" has come to be revolutionary in the area of singing competitions. Theres always something uncomforting about how AI judges deliver their comments. Its impersonal, vague, and seems unhelpful to the singers. Whereas in The Voice, judges assume the role of "coaches," so they are prompted to give sincere and precise evaluations. This in turn makes the show feel empowering not just to the competitors, but to those that are watching as well.

This really was a terrific season of American Idol. Steven Tyler and JLo and Randy really found their footing and I thought their chemistry was wonderful. And the depth of talent was so good. I was so bummed that the producers decided to switch things up after this season to bring on more dramatic judges and the talent of the singers became secondary. I don't know if AI ever recovered after this. By the time they tried to bring back JLo and Randy (as a coach) a couple of seasons later, I think everything was tainted by the Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj drama. (Even though I thought Nicki was a actually a decent judge who gave good advice to the contestants.)

Jessica's version is nothing like R Velasquez version, for one Jessica does not fill her songs with unnecessary Riffs & Runs, but relies on the beautiful tone of her voice combined with a very powerful vibrato (just like the late and great W Houston). Jessica does not mess about too much with iconic songs, but tries to stay close to the original, yet still managers to add her own flavour to the song. I have got nothing against R Velasquez, but her fans should support her on her own site and stop trying to promote her on other artists sites. Jessica's version is much the best. Not trolling, just stating the truth and supporting Jessica on her own site.
