I am a first time mom. She is 2 month old now. One of the bad things about postpartum apart from the sleep deprivation and the exhaution is all the unwanted and frankly unhelpful advice.I was so nervous and underconfident that I listened and followed a lot of crappy advice. They made it worse. When I finally took charge the situation got much better quickly. Mamas listen to others but do what you feel is right.

Was sleeping pretty well ,now suddenly it is bad.I guess it is the 4 month sleep regression thing.Postpartum was still worse because even though technically it was less work then as baby slept most of the time and now you have to be there like 24/7 , but atleast I am confident of what needs to be done.I sleep when the baby sleeps, dont worry about chores and remain relaxed. Also its only me and DH.The first two months I was a mess.

You've got this mama. I'm five years postpartum and I can tell you that the only way to survive motherhood is to take it one day at a time. I still have to remember that to this day. As a mom, you are constantly having to make decisions on how to parent. If you realize that the decision you made wasn't the best, you pivot, learn from it and keep on truckin'.

Tip for new moms: for the first week or so out of the hospital, scratch the undies completely and get yourself some adult diapers. They're not bulky, they catch the blood well and don't shift all around. No more waking up with ruined sheets bc your pad shifted out of place! Also, they never leak! Well, I've never had one leak and used this trick many times. If you're having a lot of pain in your nether regions after giving birth, take a couple of those diapers, dampen the crotch just a little (spray bottle works good) and smear a little aloe vera gel on there too, n pop it in the freezer. Voila! Padcicle for soothing and healing! Well... diapercicle lol, you get the point!

Great advice!!! Nipple confusion is not usually a problem if you start right away with a pacifier only for short term soothing or give a bottle. Mom's please, please if breastfeeding, do as she advises, pump and let someone else give an early morning bottle. You get much needed sleep, partner gets to help and baby is used to a bottle when/if you have to return to work.

"So try and be Spanish and learn how to nurse in public" You are SO unintentionally funny... I'm half Spanish and I was blown away by the stigma around nursing in the U.S.A. I couldn't understand why some would say "ew" to seeing a mom nurse; in my family, it's all you do, and if you don't, you're actually chided for bypassing the more inexpensive and nutrition dense option of breastfeeding...
@jazzminober57415 жыл бұрын
It's so annoying to hear negative opinions about breastfeeding in public! I will say, it's mainly insecure women with these opinions (from what I've noticed, at least). It's natural, beautiful and just an overall part of life. If the mother feels uncomfortable, it's understandable why she'd want to breastfeed privately but with all the bashing, I wouldn't blame her for feeling that way. I'm due in 2 months with my first child (baby girl), so maybe I should consider moving to Spain. 😂🇪🇸

Cristal Cotrell yes yes yes!!!! Spread the word! Fed is best and pacifiers are good for baby!!!
@SG-vy1lk3 жыл бұрын
Just wanna say nipple confusion isn’t real. What I mean by that is that they don’t get confused on what is and isn’t supplying milk, what they do is prefer a bottle over breast if it is a faster flow and less work to get milk from the bottle than it is the breast. To help this newborns should be given preemie bottles first. Not month 0 or month 1, but try to keep it just as difficult to get milk from the breast that it is the bottle. That said, some babies will still prefer the bottle, but they aren’t confused, just have preferences.

Congratulations! Reach out to other moms and those you trust. Just because you’re going to be a single parent does not mean you’re doing it alone. Just remember it is ok to ask for help sometimes. I would definitely suggest a doula, both labor and postpartum, if you are able to get one then it would really help. Not just because you are a single mom, but from what you wrote it seems like a first time mom. Unless you have a very supportive friend or family that has been through birth and babies before. You will be a wonderful mom, always trust your instincts. And if a doula is not for you that’s cool too, just a suggestion.

I thought I would never get pregnant or become a mum. I just never got pregnant. Now in my second marriage and 10 years later, I'm 11 weeks pregnant. Praise be to God. Pray for Me to have a healthy baby. I have a lot of anxieties about delivery.

Thank you for all the advice and just being you! You really calm my nerves! I don’t know you, but your videos are like watching a friend giving me tips And telling me it’s ok! 38 weeks pregnant with 2nd kiddo. I have a 5 year old already. This one was a big surprise ! I feel like I’ve forgotten how to do all the newborn baby stuff! I feel like it’s going to be ok after watching you! Thanks again!!

Two small feedbacks, just practical from a viewers perspective. 1. Backround music is disturbing, i'd love to just hear your voice on the subject :) 2. I love that you included text in your videos for the visuals, it's perfect for remembering your tips!

Currently 28 weeks pregnant with my first and I've been struggling to find some good information on tips for nursing and pumping early on. In the UK I've found there's a lot of emphasis about not giving a baby a bottle for several weeks until they're comfortable latching, so it's really helpful to know you've had success bottle feeding alongside nursing. I'm hoping that we have success with this combo method when our little boy is here, as I know I'm going to be struggling if I'm the only one feeding him.

Just want to say that I used the pacifier and bottles right away even though my baby was struggling to attach because he was often fussy due to being hungry (bad attachment) and after 1 month he was able to attach very easily to my boob, he's healthy, and the bottle and pacifier made it easier on us while I worked through my nipple trauma :) also now at 2 months he's let go of his need for the pacifier all by himself, not attached to it at all!

I have a 13 year old and I'm due with baby #2 in March 2024. In May 2024 my older daughter will turn 14. I'm kinda excited about it because with having an older kid I'll have a little more help than I did with my 1st daughter. This time I'll sometimes be able to leave my baby in the living room with my older daughter so I can use the bathroom, take a quick shower, or cook dinner! How was it for you having a teen and newborn at the same time? Are my expectations to high?

I know this is an older video but I’m due in 7wks with my first and to describe myself as a ball of nerves is putting it lightly. I have gone through periods of calm and feeling prepared, but the closer I get the more I’m starting to freak out! I have to say watching your video and your calm demeanor has helped me settle down the nerves and feel more confident that I’ll be okay and me and baby will be fine once she’s here. Thank you!❤️

Tip for the diaper pad: we use a square piece of leather (the size of a couch seat). It’s easy to clean, folds up very small and is less ‘cold’ than plastic. Later we used it when our daughter was potty training at night on the matras below the sheet.

I have a 6 week old and I gave her a bottle and pacifier from the start and I also breast feed. She had no nipple confusion. My Dr told me it was a good idea so the baby get's used to both and allows others to feed her. Honestly I do whatever works for us and don't take other people's opinions to heart. You do what works best for you 😁🙌🙋♀️ I am glad she took the bottle as the first few weeks are exhausting and it's so nice when someone else can take a feeding shift. 😊

You got this just focus on pushing when the time comes. I recommend getting an epidural its just a light pinch on your back and then your done. Trust me you will want it some contractions feel SO painful but mostly focus on breathing through some contractions. The epidural helps you sleep when in labor unless you have a quick birth you wont have to worry too much. I had the epidural and didnt feel my vag tearing lol I only had 2nd degree tears and the only thing that hurt was when they stitch you up at the end. Just focus on pushing and you got this!
