Hey guys! Long time no 'food' video. For today's episode, I brought three of my Korean friends to a Filipino restaurant in Seoul! I always get so excited when I introduce Filipino culture to my loved ones, and I'm pretty sure you are too. Seeing them enjoy Filipino food made me feel like a proud mom. HAHA. 🤣 I hope you guys enjoyed this video as much as we did! 💖

You can tell it's a genuine reaction when everyone's done eating and they are still surprised by how good the food taste. Also the mapapa mura ka sa sarap reaction. And James' nostalgia. Like he had his own silent moments there for a while that you can almost see some memories playing like a movie reel inside his head. 😂
@raechelann7843
@raechelann7843 3 жыл бұрын
James' nostalgic feeling while eating Filipino foods is common to us Filipinos. Most of our dishes are comfort foods. Eating for us doesn't only fill our stomachs, but also our souls and interactions with our loved ones. Moments with family and loved ones is usually accompanied with home cooked meals. And you are correct Ms.Jessica! It's really hard to go on diet in the Philippines! 😅

Mahal have 2 meaning in tagalog , the first one is Love , you can use mahal for person you love ( feeling of love) , second, mahal another meaning is expensive , so if you love manok instead using Mahal , you can say Gusto means you like , so instead saying mahal ko ang manok, tell “ Gusto ko ang manok”

As a Filipino, i could'nt resist seing jessica and her friends eating those foods,of course i am so so proud, i've tried it all, and that's also the reason why i'm proud to be a filipino, about what pani said the chinese PANCIT CANTON, i've tried it with my chinese cousin of course i am filipino but my blood breed's are mixed, i have tasted SPANISH-origin lechon,KOREAN-ramen, and CHINESE-pancit canton, and so on, it's giving me goosebumps that jessica and her friends loves PINOY foods! As a former English teacher, We teach our student to express love instead of like when you're expressing something that you really really like. So instead of saying like since you really really like it, better use love. Therefore, the tagalog clause for "I love manok" is Gustong gusto ko ng manok and it means I love manonk not 'mahal ko ang manok" Stay safe!

@10:05 we put calamansi as well to our Pinoy soju (Ginebra San Miguel :b) maybe 4-5 calamansi in a bottle(330ml). It is nice to see other nationalities share Filipino Culture to their countrymen, and sometimes that is when you realize that we got something in common... Well done. Thank you. :)

I enjoyed watching this so much, i have been addicted to watching kdramas lately(thanks Covid) but this has brought me a different kind of joy and sense of pride how you guys enjoyed our food so much and how James and Jessica gave memorable references living here in the Philippines which show how they genuinely got immersed in our culture. It's oftentimes easy for us to take everything here for granted and not notice the nuances of our culture, but seeing you guys give appreciation to them gives me a truly positive vibe and gratifying feeling. I really wish i could go back there in Seoul when the time comes coz i also love your culture and tradition. 🙏❤️😍

“I love” means *Mahal ko* but if your referring to foods you can say *Gusto ko* for example “Gusto ko ng Manok” especially when your craving it. You just add ANG so you can create a complete sentence because if you only use "Gusto ko manok ( i love chicken)" It sounds incomplete sentence is tagalog even though its right in english. I hope it helps to those people who are learning Filipino language. . (ㅅ´ ˘ `)

If you say "mahal ko ang manok", it sounds like you are talking about a specific chicken. I think it's more natural to say "gusto ko ng manok".

Or say “mahilig ako sa manok” or “paborito ko ang manok” which are other ways of saying one loves chicken.

Thanks Jessica for promoting Filipino foods to your Korean friends. They seem to have liked the all the foods you ordered. Galing mo in choosing...love all of them especially sisig, kangkong, fried chicken, pancit Canton...and of course, turon as dessert. Now that your friends have tasted our local foods, next time they can get acquainted with other Filipino dish like chicken adobo, chicken curry, lumpia (shrimp roll), etc. Kudos to you!👏🤗❤️😋

You know whenever I see Jessica's enthusiasm in introducing Filipino foods to Koreans, I kinda remember Dara in her. They both share that same level of happiness when people likes the food they also like. On a side note, I should remember to buy soju when I visit my parents. We're surrounded by hundreds of calamansi trees! :)
