Hey guys! Mabuhay from Korea! 🇰🇷🇵🇭 For today’s video, I collaborated with the amazing Sylvia! She is a Korean youtuber who makes videos about Filipino culture that she admires. We went to the Filipino restaurant in Seoul together and was able to feel a touch of the Philippines’s vibes! I know, the price of the dishes are crazy, however I understand that since there are limited number of authentic Filipino restaurants here in Korea. I miss the Philippines so much. 😭 Hope you enjoyed this video! ❤️

People here complaining about the prices of the food, you forgot they are in Korea and the cost of living from the Philippines and Korea is different. Let’s just say some of the ingredients pa were also imported from the Philippines. One thing you should always do is never compute/convert currencies when you’re in a different country. Though hindi maiwasan minsan. Kahit sa USA pag nag convert ka ng prices from usd to php talagang mamamahalan ka din sa mga Filipino Store/Restaurants. Unless you know how to cook specific dishes then you’d save a lot. Same din sa mga authentic biryani house sa Pinas kaya mahal kasi iniimport pa ibang mga ingredients.

some Korean food is actually better value than food in Philippines. 7-11 korea has cheaper food items than 7-11 philippines. 5 dollars in Korea you can eat so much. In philippines 5 dollars you are still hungry.
@justjaja3652

@@eduardochavacano lol, seems like you have a beef with filipino culture and such... (saw your reply from other comment lol). And your statement "5 dollars in ph you are still hungry" was a big joke. 5 dollars (US) is equivalent to 250 php here (if $1 value is 50 php, *value may vary depending on dollar exchange rate). 250 pesos are too much for 1 meal even if you'll spend it in 7/11 here.

There are 3 kinds of Sisig. 1st - Originally, cow brain is used instead of Mayo. 2nd - Alternative, raw egg instead of Mayo. 3rd - Mayo is used to suite more of the public taste. I personally ate Sisig as well as Spring roll with cow brain and it tastes really good! :) 500php for kangkong is 2 months worth of kangkong :D The use of Magic Sarap is to bring out the flavors of the food. If the food was cooked/saute well then you don't need to put Magic Sarap but it will somehow taste like it had.

@12:41 the turon you are referring is the “Pritong Lumpia”(usually dipped in vinegar sauce) eaten as a viand mostly. That one you are eating is the actual turon, eaten as a sweet snack during late afternoon or snack before lunch (merienda) usually. Personally i like it with my coffee.

Dang, the prices make me and wallet cry! Maybe because they actually get some of the ingredients (like kangkong and the sitaw) straight from the Philippines! That being said, thank you for introducing Sylvia Kim to me. She seems to be a fun girl to hang out with. Definitely checking her channel after this! PS I LoL'd so hard at the part where you exclaimed "They wasted the P290 beer!" and the "To-lon" parts! XD XD

From a very grateful Filipino, Thank you very much. 😊

Lagi mo maririnig sa knila "very cheap" lalo na pag sa mga country-side na mga frutas, at pucha tumatawad pa. Half price na nga tinatawaran pa ang pobre. Mayonnaise and egg are actually recent additions to sisig (egg was earlier than the mayo). In fact, sisig in the Spanish period looked more like ceviche. Then Aling Lucing Cunanan tried boiling the pig face before grilling and subsequently frying it. Then, Benedict Pamintuan tried to put sisig on a sizzling plate. Try to watch Erwan Heussaff's history of sisig on his channel. ---> kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKimpZJqeqeMjM0

Sisig originated here in Pampanga, a province from the Philippines. The "Original" (like the 'very' first sisig made) was only from pig ears, calamansi, and ginger. Then, "Aling Lucing" evolved the dish to the dish that you usually see today. (Pig ears, onions, liver etc.) Our culture loves the taste of delicious food and respects it's original recipe. We consider adding Mayo and Egg on top of the sisig as offensive since it destroys the original taste of our famous local food. If you ever had the chance to visit the Philippines again, please try visiting "Aling Lucing's Sisig" here in pampanga for the authentic taste of sisig.

Originally, sisig comes eith pig’s brain, but it is a little bit pricier and difficult to look for, so most of the restaurant just put mayonnaise as a substitute to pig’s brain because of its consistency being creamy. But the original restaurant that made the sisig (Aling Lucing Sisig) still uses pig’s brain.
