First of all I have to say thank you for this wonderful video because it really shows almost the best of Jessie J's performances! :) That being said, I don't wanna state anything official but...I'm starting to think that she is actually a Dramatic Coloratura Soprano, a really UNTRAINED and INCONSISTENT one precisely and this is why I think so: her voice is very bright and shines in the upper register like a classical soprano, her agility shows a superior level compared to all the lyric vocalists although it's still pretty inconsistent and her vocal color can be warm and also metallic in occasion, plus the size of her voice can be very big when it is polished and supported enough. There's nothing dark in the color of her voice especially when it comes to her belted notes so she isn't a spinto soprano and her timbre hasn't that mature and dense quality of a full lyric soprano. She sounds like a light lyric soprano because she is an untrained vocalist as I said before and consequently she didn't develop the amount of skills that a truly trained Dramatic Coloratura Soprano possesses. Anyway she has such a fantastic voice and I hope that she will fix her vocal technique because she has a huge potential. Again GREAT video! ;)

Her medium and low register and when she talks you can see clearly how her voice is velvety and dark lmfao, you even know what means colatura? People on internet... makes me laugh so hard. Mariah's head voice is short, and even her F6 sounds like whistle, what don't have nothing with colatura, which is the ability of singers that have an exceptional agility on head voice, and used to designate singers on 'opera areas' not pop music. REAL colatura sopranos are Mado Robin, Erna Sack, Diana Damrau. Maybe she is a colatura, mezzo or contralto, but soprano colatura? Not even close.

Once she goes above that, it takes a lot more effort, just like when she belts the G5 in Bang Bang. She closes her throat and strains just the slightest bit. A full lyric soprano would be able to hit a G5 with ease, but still keep the resonance, keep an open throat, and maintain the weight of their voice like Demi Lovato. Also she had the capability of going down to a C#3 almost completely supported. A full lyric soprano would start struggling at around an Eb3.

+Dylan L not sure where you train your voice but you should consider to get a new vocal coach. There's no way Jessie is a Mezzo. Her voice are light naturally unless she intentionally darkens her voice, not to mention her lows are kinda weak below G/F#3 , anything below that were pushed and has no support nor projection. And her peak for belting is obviously above F5, it takes a lot more effort because she tends to dropping her support and it's probably above her passaggio. If you have achieved a well developed technique, belts can be very effortless to you, but in this case Jessie is straining because of a bad technique. Overall her voice is light compare to a real Mezzo like Beyoncé. And she got great agility , but a true Coloratura takes a lot of practice and training so it is hard to apply a classical vocal fach to pop singer.
