I don't wanna make music anymore I said that out loud, wow Then I tried to stop and I didn't know how to Because it's impossible to walk away from true love Art, emotion, lyrics, music, feeling It's what I need to survive Man, that pain woke me up It's inside out, you know? I don't do this because I want to do it I do it because I have to I feel everything so deeply It's a blessing and a curse And I lost my passion to create To draw a line between business and art I'd fallen into darkness and allowed myself to be led by fear The fear was keeping other people happy Who didn't ever care about me And I was running deeper into someone and something I wasn't How did that become more important than my light? At the time I couldn't find that question I really thought it was more important I'd forgotten what made me special I was lost in what I stood for And I was desperately trying to reach out for something, or someone, but I couldn't feel It didn't feel like there was anyone there But there was I was there Love was there I was there, I never left I just gave someone my magic, and they didn't look after it And in all the power I felt was lost It was never gone The one thing that started this whole journey could never be taken away from me My voice I started to just, write words and sing Just like I did when I was sixteen No singles, no hooks, no pressure Just me, my feelings and being real And I started to feel it I started to feel it coming back The music I said I didn't wanna make Is what brought me back to life The anger, the honesty, the heartache The pain, the joy, the strength, the love It all happened for a reason The teaching and the lesson The words I kept coming back to Realisations Obsessions Sex And Empowerment R.O.S.E. For each letter, there is a word And for each word, is a song I will share with you I'm strong enough now to let you in To be real and to be free My mother is called Rose She gave me the gift of life A rose is at it's most beautiful when budding new I rose above the pain We give roses or a single rose as a gift for so many different feelings And this This is my gift to you

I know I’m a bit late but I’ve watched this many times and cried each. I’m a 15 year old dancer. Been doing it since I was 3. It’s my love, my voice, my everything. And the people I have surrounded myself no longer support me the way I need them to. Every word that she said felt like it came from my mouth. Thank you. I hope to perform to this one day

This is utterly beautiful. I'm a 48-year-old woman who just saw your Bang Bang video and went to your channel to find more music, and instead I found a connection. Thank you for that gift. I'm autistic, and didn't know until last year. I went through a similar thing to what you're describing in your video. In my case it's called autistic burnout, but burnout explains it anyway. You feel like everyone has taken all the pieces of you, to use for their own ends, without ever returning the favour. You work until you're a husk, only to have your work treated like garbage. I'm an author who has published a few books, and I'll continue to do that, but music is my other big love in life. I'm starting a metal band, and I don't give a damn if other people think I'm too old. Plenty of 70-year-old men on stage right now, playing metal. I got serious with my 7-strings, and I'll let them do the talking while I sing my ass off.

gaga, beyonce and so many more have gone through these type of transitions. it just shows what fame can do to people and its beautiful to see when artists like them and jessie choose to be real and raw its so refreshing, i love it. its inspiring
@LizSolactivatedLove3 жыл бұрын
Gaga and Beyoncé and stars alike sold their soul, and their breakdowns/transitions were due to the fact they realized they won’t be able to get it back. Jessie J stopped them and walked away before she was gone.. She rose above the darkness which is a reason why she has then been considered an underrated musical legend and will continue until the music industry has a revolutionary reformation... which hopefully be soon 🤞🏼
@lakarox67773 жыл бұрын
@@LizSolactivatedLove i agree to an extent...for their level of fame is almost impossible not to make sacrifices like that. They can get their souls back with time but it wont be the same...especially for Gaga, I think she has given way too much of herself while Beyonce has kept herself apart from the world for her family I think. I don't believe that revolution will happen soon, as long as money and business will continue to be main factors. Like you said it s the music industry, and music should not be an industry in a perfect world.

basically this video is about how her last few albums have just been industry focused and how her songs have lost meaning and how she lost her passion for writing music. (and it showed with the exception of a few songs e.g. masterpiece) Now with this new era she's tried to break free of that mindset, overcome her fears and has focused on writing music for herself and as a form of art / self expression again like she did when she was younger.

I hear you, and I can relate. I once, yes twice, got caught up in a world of pleasing everyone but me. It wasn't me- but my joy and blessed, God- given talent is teaching. I must teach and reach out to people. Gotta be real and use what the Lord gave us, or He'll take it away. He's gracious enough to forgive us and let us start over, not replay. He's loving enough to bring us through the storms, not drown us. He's strong enough to lift us up, not harm us.

Jessie, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WAKING ME UP!! I've been thinking about quitting almost every day, but I feel so empowered just knowing there are still artists who create for reasons separate from status, entertainment or money. This is how we navigate through our existence. If it were no for the crooked miles behind me, I would never have been strong enough to walk freely. Taking your rose and paying it forward. I believe it is because I've never been around a woman willing to speak honestly about her feelings. I have made efforts often in past relationships even attending her weekly counseling yet no new insights. Seems like emotionless was the goal. Anyhow thank you Jessi J hopefully more people will speak with importance and give opportunity to be personal again.
