Notice how even after she has killed the "intruder" she still suffers loss, as the land(giant island person) she had previously co-existed with dies in the battle.. goes to show WAR is never good for the Earth, and no murder comes with out sacrifice. She outside herself with this one 🌹

There isn’t one nice comment under here. As a white woman you’re 100% right and I am so glad she embraces her roots too. I do not identify with the colonizers in this video - there’s a revolution going on out there, and it’s time for white ppl to clean up their mess and let the original kings and queens take over. America was built by walking all over Native Americans and on the backs of slaves, and it’s time for them to be in way*** more leadership roles making the decisions.

It’s a love song too. The singer is female, and thus her “rivals” in love would be female (accounting for bisexuals and others nonwithstanding). Don’t get so wrapped up in the colonialist theme (even if it’s arguably the most important one) that you forget everything else about the song.

In my Hawaiian culture, we see Kāne (pronounced = kaa-neh) as our God of pretty much life. Kāne means man, so he was like the creator. For me I felt the relation. Though as other Indigenous culture, there were many Gods/Goddesses of many other things as well. Kāne was just one of them(:

Halo Light I wasn’t saying it in a bad way. Most people were saying how powerful song is, which tied with the video. I just mentioned how I seen the song in a relationship scenario, which was totally different from the video theme. I just thought it was unique that I pictured a woman was so in love with someone that she wouldn’t allow anyone to intrude the relationship. I agree with their view on the art. I just shared how I viewed it as a love between two people.

@@lopez8872 but did Native Americans go to someone elses country put the natives in camps, take thousands of their children and white wash them under the guise of a school. are native americans still on reservations with no slaves and a dying culture while White people are free and have their culture and celebration acknowledged as something other than a dark ritual. Yes. We may have had slaves but we didn't force thousands to walk the trail of tears, we didn't strip an entire Race of their culture we dont depict your god as fake or a way to make sense of what science couldnt. Our celebratory gear is seen as a joke and a costume. You can dress up as a Native American for Halloween but you don't dare dress as an African American. Why because we can acknowledge the wrongs done to African Americans why not take ownership for the wrongs dont to Native Americans on their own land in their own home.

That's like criticizing Ghandi's methods or MLK deciding to opt for peace instead of starting a war and killing anyone and everyone who may or may not have deserved it. I get the whole desire for destruction in the joker; wanna see the world burn lol jk im so twisted; kinda way,. But ffs I'm sick of the romanticism of it and that people agree non-ironically: "that they should have killed them all when they had the chance". It makes everyone tribalized and stupidly pedantic over weighing misfortunes to decide who the "bad guy" is accordance with nationality or race.

There’s not really to many artists that truly put the ART in artists the way Jessie does. The way she really brings the deep and heart-wrenching meaning of a song like this to life in a way that’s so tear-jerking, yet beautifully powerful. It makes you love this already very powerfully heart-wrenching, yet beautiful song even more. The animation such a true piece of art that makes you feel like you’re watching a classic animated Disney movie come to life in song form. For what’s by far one of the most beautiful and amazingly creative music videos you will ever see. Just like Jessie said in a statement about the new visual. “Colonialism is in the mitochondria of racism." The message really conveyed in both the heart-wrenching, yet beautifully deep meaning of both the video and song. Showing how badly, we've treated the earth and each other throughout history. Is so accurate and really hits home even more so with everything going on now that we need to change. Which is why we all needed a reset and what's happening in the world. Is currently happening. So it can allow us all to really look at each other and ourselves to make those necessary changes we all need to better ourselves and the word around us.

Kenna thanks, yeah I always like to get down to the details of a lot of the songs on an album. When I listen to it, I want to feel that connection or the same type of vibe the artist did when they made that particular song. I’m glad that I’m able to express that through my great gift of journalism/writing. That a lot of others may not be able to or if they’re able to maybe not as well as someone like myself or other writers maybe able to. That’s why I love interviewing artists a lot of times to get their actual thoughts about particular parts of a performance, album, song or whatever maybe on my mind that I myself or I know others will want to know about an artist.

I found you, cleared land Put down my flag This is mine from now on When I see intruders I load up my weapons And fire my cannons I wrote my name Everywhere For all eyes to see You're beautiful, beautiful I see them stare But you belong to me So please, no intruders I'd kill all intruders 'Cause my love is ruthless So please, no intruders I wrote you a love song, a war song I'll sing it when the ships come, yeah I'll die for my state Love in my veins You are my kingdom I wrote your name Everywhere For all eyes to see You're beautiful, beautiful I see them stare But you belong to me So please, no intruders I'd kill all intruders 'Cause my love is ruthless So please, no intruders Please, no intruders I kill all intruders 'Cause my love is ruthless So please, no intruders I got heads on the table Heads on a stake Of people that failed And done make the mistake of thinking I'd let them in But this is my land So don't you come in This is my land So please, no intruders I'd kill all intruders 'Cause my love is ruthless So please, no intruders

Love is the only way. But sometimes war is inevitable. Sometimes when you fight for something that you love it could kill what you love the most. This song really touched my core on another level. And for all that don't know, she is Colombian, most of the true indigenous were wiped out by biological warfare. They could not conquer the people, they were literally fearsome warriors that had no fear of death. Only fragments of tribes are still in us, but all we need is .00001 percent in our blood and we still won't forget.

I think besides real warfare it's a reflection of how toxicity involving a third party intefering in a relationship has everlasting damage.

Fun fact: The ARAWAK people stretched from Florida all the Caribbean islands down to Venezuela. The sub-tribe of the Arawak named the Taino people saved Colon and his diseased crew of prison inmates from the Sea, starvation, the wilderness and gave him all the gold the land possessed. The Taino people where the first to be taken in chains to Europe to kneel before the Queen. Most Tainos never made it to Europe since they jumped into the Atlantic instead.
