Laura Esteves Well it was one of those 'storm in a teacup' type scandals that celebrities in korea get involved in. Basically Tiffany was promoting in Japan with Girl's Generation. She picked a Japan themed filter for some photos she posted, but the filter resembled the Japanese wartime flag. Tiffany quickly apologized and took down the offending posts, but Korean netizens were outraged and accused her of not knowing Korean history. They also made a lot of false allegations that she did it on Korean liberation day (false as it was the day before), and that she did it after being warned (false she took them down as soon as she was aware people were offended). Hopefully the "scandal" has blown over by now, but she had to stop her appearances for a while.
