When I was a child in my single years, I got the opportunity to watch a movie called Jeremiah Johnson, and a mini series called Grizzly Adams. Now watching these movies, and what was going on with me as a child made me want to go live in the mountains. I told my mom one day the mountains are calling me, and she said what are they saying and I told her they are telling me to come home. I did not choose that path. I chose the white picket fence pay bills be in debt raise some children teach them well, and now they’re off on their own, and my wife is not sure if she is willing to go do this off grid living thing that I truly and honestly believe I can accomplish. Thank you for sharing this song. Stay, Golden.

I lived around Ft. Lenard Wood . Hated it . Even as a kid I called the state Misery . The rocks are so close to the surface , like a railroad track , hottest place in the summer and the coldest in the winter . Osage copperhead, Western cottonmouth (also known as water moccasin), Timber rattlesnake, Massasauga rattlesnake and Western pygmy rattle snake , and the Eastern Rattlesnake are 6 more venomous reasons I live in Illinois now , (North and West of Peoria and the hills up this way are nice with a lot less snakes !) and I guess , Home really is wherever the Heart is . I love Wichita . Lived and worked there for a time a few years back . Always been my supposition that River Towns have folk that are more laid back and friendlier than most other places . Wichita has the Arkansas river and the Mitch Mitchell Floodway ( which is practically a river of its own ! ) . The Flint Hills are nice as well and there is so much to do there . I was never bored there . I'll go back once I'm retired , if only for an extended visit . Reply

Just an OUTSTANDING song and lyrics that resonate Double J! I left the city life about 20 years ago and wake up every day to horses and fresh mountain air. I am blessed to be able to do so and wish others could experience this way of life. Guessing your footage is from Montana? The west is still wild and will remain that way as long as there are horses and cowboys who can choose to live this life and ride and remain free and see all of God’s beauty up close from the back of a saddle. Thanks for this fabulous song and portrayal of the life you and I love. It truly IS Heaven on earth…🤠 🐴

On my 50th birthday my wife gave me the best gift ever . A trip back to the mountains. We’ve been back two more time in two years . There’s nowhere I’d rather be . The lyrics in this song are perfect.
