It's one of the only times in scriptures that I know of Jesus being pissed. He might've not even been saying it in anger. I don't know which is more horrifying. Jesus saying those words with wrath in his voice or saying them with calmness and gentle speech. I hope to God he never says things like that to me.

I love this part, the Lord is sometimes misunderstood or misrepresented as being *only* kind and gentle, but He’s also strong and stern with no white lies.

Jesus mostly rebuked the Pharesees not because they didn't believe in him, but because the Pharesees took tithes but ignored the more important matters of justice (the unchanging law of God that establishes to bring consequences for their actions) mercy, faithfulness. Matthew 23: 23-24. Also, why do people ignore the verse where Jesus says to "listen to what they say, but do not do what they do" Matthew 23:3. Everyone needs to read Matthew 5:7-20. Blessings

Read Mathew 23 verse 2, literally in the same chapter, do and observe what the scribes and Pharisees tell you, for they sit on Moses seat. Jesus gives them authority because the 5 Books of Moses have authority. So we should do what the 5 Books of Moses tells us to do. But not the works that they do(unbiblical tradition).

Jesus wasn't trying to be mean to them...he was just stating the truth. The truth now, He is Lord and King but the Churches are still ruled by Jesus hating pharisees.

ISAIA: GOD IS SALVATION or "Salvation of God"( SAME MEANING AS JESUS' NAME TOO)

It’s interesting to think. Jesus was sent by God to deliver his messages of love and forgiveness and compassion. I feel when Jesus was destroying the Pharasees and calling them out as hypocrites. It’s wild to think that Jesus was speaking on behalf of God. So while the Pharasees BELIEVED they were doing right by God. Clearly God thought of them as being unclean hypocrites

Perhaps a misleading title to a Sermon...! Christ came to save sinners, the Pharisees included! He came to 'destroy' the works of the Devil. Christ wrestled not against flesh and blood but against the satanic powers of darkness of whom the Pharisees were slaves. Sinners like us all. Let us not "destroy them" as the title suggests; but love them. Speak the truth; if it's a rebuke that's needed, provide it then. Nevertheless always for their good, and always out of love to their never dying souls...

@danielf198 . You don't know much. There are many righteous people in the Bible, ok? Jesus is far from perfect. He called Gentiles, dogs 🐕 in Mark 7 27, and said he was speaking in parables so that people couldn't understand and repent, see Mark 4:12
