Exodus 22:2 sounds like a viable affirmative defense in the American Legal System. Also, the three 2's in Exodus 22:2 align nicely with the solitary 2 in the 2nd Amendment. Coincidence?

Biblical authority doesn't just come from comand examples. The brother in the video used explicit and implied commands.

Peter was not acting in self defence when he cut Malchus ear off as they came to place Jesus under arrest, that’d be like attacking a policeman when they are placing someone under arrest. All the examples we have from New Testament scripture is that all the disciples deaths were without an attempt of self defence. Stephen, John the Baptist, Paul’s persecution, John, James etc there is no example of self defence anywhere, but rather… 1Pe 3:9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. Rom 12:17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. Rom 12:19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Rom 12:20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Mat 26:52 Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Mat 26:53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? We know what the sword is …”the word of God” Eph 6:17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, And we know what we shall be judged by…”the Gospel” Rom 2:16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. Joh 12:48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. Does the word not say you shalt not kill, to turn the other cheek, to pray for our enemies, to feed them, quench them, pray for them & not to fear them because once they have killed the body they can no longer hurt us…honestly, if that were not the case why did Stephen at the very least not run?

I would say Peter carrying a sword would imply you can carry arms and defend yourself. Lord don’t let me lead anyone astray.

@@clancyyoung9994 Okay. Cite an example that they used it to defend themselves from a potential attacker.

Isaiah 2:2-5 Is foretelling what will occur upon the arrival of Jesus. Isa 2:4 He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

Turn the other cheek may mean to forgive.

Jesus driven out the people from the temple to fulfill the old testament, and so is letting the disciples buy swords to fulfill what needs be fulfilled. Jews lived not in a Spirtual warfare, they lived physically who were not promised an eternal life, but is the Christians in Christ. On top of that, let me speak what I observe MOSTLY from Overseas Christians from the Churches of Christ. You are cold to one another. Now why am I saying this? See how you communicate to one another, you don't address each other as brothers, or sisters, or brethren, you just casually talk as if your gentiles and are distant in love which Christ commanded a new law to Love one another. MOST of you don't use hearts to your brethren's posts and comments, you just appreciate a family member's and people who you just know personally and like sports icons, guns etc. You are easily triggered and get angry and cuss. If you can't treat well and love your own race of brethren in Christ, how much more you're cruel to your enemies and not loving them to an extent to killing them. If you really believe this self defense, put an example, even just one person from the apostles and early Christians WRITTEN in the New Testament that they defended themselves, their loves ones, family members, friends, neighbors, livestocks and etc. And I'll concede and stop my arguments. Thanks!

You are assuming no Christian used self defense against a murderer, rapist or thieves. All because it isn't chronicled or recorded in scripture does not mean they never did. It is not written in scripture that they ever used the toilet as well. Does that mean they never did---of course not. Your logic is flawed.
