More practical and extremely helpful ministry from Sproul, especially when he warns about following Christ at a "safe" distance.

How many of us would be like Peter under pressure? We really don’t know what we would due honestly unless we have been under the threat of life and death in our own lives. Peter was holding onto pride when he told Jesus that he would never leave him. What would you do if someone threatened the life of your loved ones in an attempt to deny Christ? Your baby? Your hubby? Your children? Parent? Mild to moderate persecution are practicing grounds to strengthen our courage and trust in Holy Spirit to protect us from harm.

I feel most of us today, myself included, wouldn’t fair so well when faced with this. Realistically we might even more resemble Judas than Peter when faced with this. I try to listen to these sermons and to the scriptures highlighting the bravery of the martyrs in the hopes that I may not disappoint my savior someday.

Well, also remember the Apostles aren't regenerate at this point. Not really. Jesus would need to return then leave again for the Holy Spirit to come to them and empower them. It's too easy to forget what we are like before being saved. Now we fully appreciate the consequences and have our Father to hold our right hand. Peter at this point is but one scared man. It does still illustrate how much we are given and how fortunate we are to be on the other side of prophecy.
i will worship the Only Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever and ever🙏🙏

What a perfect way to describe Peter’s conundrum.

@@timothysnow4107 I will not say. Anything regarding Peter. I love them all too much. Peter showed such Growth in the Holy Scriptures. The way he was crucified, more than cancelled all the lack. They loved Christ to the death. Your beginning can be tough/ rough but your ending is what really counts.

@@jessyjonas4988 absolutely! I don’t understand doubters when you see these marvelous men die such horrific deaths when they could continue to deny

I disagree. Jesus was quiet to INSURE his own death.

God would be delivered to destruction by his own hand. That aside it's repeated many times Christ could call on a host of angels to serve him. He just didn't. This is a show of inhuman restraint. Particularly because Christ begged to get out of this dreadful task.

@@KittysDawn Yet he was ultimately obedient to his father. Many, many time he could have stopped it yet he did not. He even initiated it by telling Judas to go do what was to do.
