Daniel and friends and artisans were taken in the first wave. The Assyrians had destroyed the City of Babylon. This was a seventy year period in which Nebuchadnezzar rebuilt the city. People from all over the world came to see it. The Hanging Gardens was one of the Seventh Wonders of the World. This is why they took the artisans and craftsmen.
