My statement is far from religiously intolerant but it struck a major chord with them because it presented them with a dark reality that comes with any organized religion, people will be abused. I've faced this my whole life, people getting viscerally offended that I am open about being physically, emotionally, and s*xually abused by the church until I was 16, but I refuse to back down because christians need to face what their beliefs are actually resulting in. I was a child, I was irreparably hurt, and they don't want to hear about it in favor of keeping their religious view through rose colored glasses... Talk about intolerance.

Ok so if anyone is actually curious about the whole “are jesus and god the same person” question, here is what i’ve learned in my theology courses: The “Godhead” is the term for the trio of God The Father, God The Son (Jesus) and The Holy Spirit. Eastern Orthodox Christians stick to the understanding that God the Father is the foremost member of the Godhead & that Jesus & the holy spirit emit from the Father alone, while Catholics hold that the trinity simultaneously emits from one another. God the Father is the creator force, the holy spirit is omnipresent energy force (arguably a feminine force due to language chosen in the original texts & in some traditions is called Sophia or Divine Wisdom) that interacts with human consciousness and the rest of the Godhead, Jesus the Son was a physical manifestation of the godhead, so made of the same essential conscious force as God the Father & the Holy Spirit, that lived for 30ish years and when he died he is believed to have rejoined the Godhead now as a piece of this united force that has experienced first hand human life.
