I was raised in the church as well. I have attended not one but two funerals for babies and toddlers that died of cancer and mitochondrial disease despite months of prayer from pastors, deacons, "prayer warriors," and entire congregations. The families went broke and went through months and years of terrible anguish, only to lose their children and go broke trying to save them. If a god exists, he is fine with giving babies cancer and watching them die as the parents and friends of the family beg him for help and lose their house paying the bills. Such a deity is not worthy of worship, even if they exist.

It's sad it's also the best structure to prop up a society. Not best as in it's the goodest but as in best as a structure. It hits all the points to keep a society following a certain way. Basically the ultimate question of if law and civilization broke down and became anarchy, how do we keep people from doing "wrong" things since basic morality doesn't deter? I'm an atheist so before you think this is an argument for God, it ain't lol I'm saying if I was a Supreme Leader of some kind who wanted my rules to be obeyed even after my death, I'd have to stand in awe of what religion accomplishes. Almost makes it seem inevitable for any new Civilizations beginning.

Comedy is rooted in observation; it often captures the nuances and peculiarities of everyday life. While some comedy skims the surface, providing light-hearted amusement, other forms bite deep, offering snippets of critique on complex social realities. In my experience, I think it was the religion that made me start to question a lot of things until I got to the question of God’s existence. It actually scared me the first time I asked myself that question. But eventually I got through it when I understood that if god existed, he would have been there when I was abused as a child. A helpless innocent child suffering and no god around. And as an adult I had to go through depression and anxiety and panic attacks, and no one, no doctor or medication was able to heal me. That’s when I finally found a Buddhist Monk and recommended me a book. A book that actually made a lot of sense and made me find the answers to my questions on how could I overcome my suffering and its helped me tremendously. I don’t agree with many things about Buddhism as a religion, but as a practice it has made me understand a lot about myself. Anxiety and depression are always around, but I know now how to not let them in. But religion, religion doesn’t teach us that. The "leave it up to god" thing, doesn’t work. Praying, same thing. It gives you a momentary lapse of joy but then it goes away again and you have to keep going back and pray again and again and always, waiting to be healed by some external force ignoring completely that the answers lie within ourselves. It’s just like happiness. We grow up believing that we need to find happiness. That someone else will come and brings us happiness. The pursuit of happiness, they call it. The reality is that we cannot find happiness anywhere but within ourselves. The way out is in. And happiness doesn’t mean to be smiling all the time. Happiness it’s also a practice and is the ability to see the light in the dark, to accept the unexpected things and see the positive side of them. To feel comfortable in any situation we face because we know that nothing is permanent. That’s why Positive people are in a constant relationship with happiness and happiness has nothing to do with material things. It’s an inside job.

First of all, 2 Forms of Christianity there are = Gods True Version (Found in the Bible, taught by Father's 1 True Church on earth and practiced by its members) and Satan's counterfeit that both go by the same name but, not the same way of life/teachings they go by. Satan started to create the counterfeit version 50 years after Jesus left Earth and then, later would use Emperor Constantine of Rome to enforce this counterfeit upon the Earth which, is The Worldwide Version of Christianity that most now follow. 2 Examples of True Version and Satan's counterfeit are: 1. Gods goes by The Holy Days, Satan's goes by The Holidays. 2. Gods True Sabbath is Friday Sunset until Saturday sunset, Satan's is Sunday. = "THE MARK OF THE BEAST" will be about FORCED SUNDAY upon the whole Earth which, is allegiance to Satan over God Almighty!!!!! Most already (optional) follow Satan's counterfeit Sunday Sabbath/Church Day and will do so when the time comes when it is forced. *When Gods 2 Witnesses come, they will preach what the world does not follow. For Satan has mankind on a false path not knowing the True path is even, when Gods 2 Witnesses provide the corrections to The Whole World. *For Satan made mankind headstrong with/into Satan's counterfeits that spans so many generations!!!!!!!!!!! *Locked in mankind is in following Satan = The Murder of Jesus, The Murder of Gods 2 Witnesses to come and again, trying to murder Jesus yet again, when Jesus Returns!!!!!!!! Religion, is a word given to make a way of life (following God) detachable from you (optional) to Follow God as a way of life. Satan has removed Gods design from all churches and their clergy upon the entire Earth........Save Just 1 Church = Father's True Church = Jesus Bride to Come!!!!!! Mankind, follows and learns from all of Satan's counterfeit churches and their false clergy and all sources connected to them of the global massive network around the Earth, not knowing this......... and those of the clergy, not knowing Satan is using them against their own creation they are a part of to teach mankind away from Truth aka Mankind's protection from Satan.

So, I am almost 50, and realized in my 20s that I was a man of science. I always wanted to know the “who, what, when, where, how and why” of something. In that search, I discovered that for me, there is a separation between faith and religion. FAITH - is of the heart. It is the personal relationship between you and whatever name you call the supreme being/creator (God, Allah, Yeweh, etc). And it can be a wonderful and beautiful way for you to experience the world around you. RELIGION - Is of the head. It is more concerned with power control, and money. Power in the world around you. Control of you - telling you what to think how to think and why to think that way. And money, as George says they are always asking for more money.

How is the joke on George? He died around a decade later after years of trashing religion. Everything that has ever lived is dead or going to die, so that makes no sense. These days in America it mostly helps people feel either superior or eases their fear of non existence after they die. Why does any religious person ball their eyes out when someone they love dies? If they were going to heaven you may shed a tear because you won't see them for a while. If people actually believed they would smile, laugh and party more because they're going to heaven. Way more than a wake. There is no logic to what religious people say and how they actually act. I miss George

I was in Japan late last year and the Christmas decorations were already up. Our guide told us that the traditional Japanese Christmas Day feast is Kentucky Fried Chicken ( no lie, I'm dead serious ) and that Christmas is actually a bigger couples' holiday in Japan than Valentine's day is here. A woman in our group asked "What about the religious aspect of Christmas?" and our guide answered "Nobody pays any attention to it in Japan." I said "Ah, so just like in North America, then!" The woman looked at with a very offended expression and I said "Look, it's hardly a secret that Christmas and Easter are the church's busiest days of the year.... because for most people, those are the only two days out of the year that they go." Most people here who call themselves "Christians" are only paying lip-service to the idea, at best. You, yourself admitted "I don't pray as often as I should" and "I'm not very well versed in the Bible."

Satan started to create the counterfeit version 50 years after Jesus left Earth and then, later would use Emperor Constatine of Rome to enforce this counterfeit upon the Earth which, is The Worldwide Version of Christianity that most now follow. 2 Examples of True Version and Satan's counterfeit are: 1. You should really look at the history of how the bible came about. I was religious and studied the bible verses, and had a lots of questions. Then I looked at the sources of the bible and it's history of how it came to being, and once I realised that it was a compilation of heavily edited bits of anonymous scribbles found all over the region and compiled into a story book. Many of the scripts contradicted the stuff that was eventually put into the bible so was left out. The names of the apostles were made up (Try finding a Mark, Luke, John in those regions). After centuries of editing, leaving bits in, taking bits out, putting new bits in, rewriting and translation, then King James heavily edited the texts when he created the King James Bible (the most commonly used bible). The Romans kept meticulous records of the time, with news journaling and official documentation, and there is no mention of Jesus, the sermon on the mount, the psalm Sunday where thousands allegedly congregated and left psalm at his feet. No mention whatsoever or Joseph and his 14 year old wife Mary. Noah, completely fabricated, there is no evidence of a worldwide flood in any geology records. Penguins did not walk from the north pole to get on a boat that could hold 5 million species. We know the earth was made 5.4 billion years ago not 6000 and that homo-Sapiens didn't start on the planet until 300,000 years ago.... We also know that the bible says that slavery is OK, it even explains how a good slave should behave for its master, the same with women as they are the property of the man. The Catholic and Anglican churches have both officially accepted evolution as fact, so that effectively throws Genesis out of the window, Adam, Eve, talking snakes, Caine and Abel and all that incest with their mother Eve over the next '400' years of her life (as she was the only female allegedly on the planet). The telling thing for me is, that whilst there are countless things in the bible that have been clearly shown as false by science, archaeology, and history over the years, there isn't a single piece of knowledge in the bible that couldn't have been known at that time, and has been subsequently proved to be true. No mention of the solar system, dinosaurs, medicine, physics... absolutely nothing... Its almost as if it was just written by imaginative/creative/dishonest men with zero sentient celestial input... If you claimed that god spoke to you, you were a prophet, and prophets were revered at the time as extremely important people, because they could to speak with the god(s), so there was plenty of incentive to make shit up for personal gain and power and fame... There are some very good videos by Richard Dawkins debating religion. He is an evolutionary biologist and his quite gentle in charming in his approach. there is also Christopher Hitchens but you may find him a bit confrontational. I hope you take the time to look at some of videos for yourself, it helps clarify things. Take care ❤
