Christ isn't a means to our ends. He is the Means to his Father who should be our End. He isn't merely a means to the Father, but the Means, the Way, the Truth. The Father is the End in Himself. He has given his Son life in himself, therefore the Son is the Life besides the Way and the Truth. Christ is the Means and the End, the First and the Last, the Aleph and the Tau.

I've been a part of a non denominational type church most of my life. It has always made me cringe hearing other Christians talk about prayer as if Jesus is a genie in a bottle.
