I appreciate Anne’s teaching about the Holy Spirit especially at this time of my life. My husband died of a massive heart attack three months ago. We were married 53 years and he took care of every part of my life like Anne experience in her marriage. Sometimes things happen in our lives to make us more dependent on Jesus! And it reminds of the scripture when Paul wrote, referring to the thorn in his side. "I asked God 3 times to take it away." And God said, " My power is made whole through weakness"! Our weakness may not be the same as Paul's but Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever. And whatever weakness we have, His power is made whole through our weaknesses!

@@kaysonrhodes5482 A group of people take offense to the notion that women are not to be leaders or teachers in the church. The single most touted objection is to reference Deborah who was a judge of Israel after the death of Ehud. Dissecting the context of the book of Judges at this time is not even necessary, because this is the lone example of this happening in all the Bible which should tell anyone with even the faintest bit of sense that this is not a precedent for women to be leaders and teachers. The only question should be, "why is this the only time this happened?" Moreover, the Old Testament is not where we get our instruction for the church. One must deliberately neglect the very clear commands concerning the church in order to contrive this nonsensical proposition. Deborah was not part of a New Testament church. This alone disqualifies this example as relevant to the argument. Even by Old Testament standards this was not normative in any sense. This is how God described women leaders in a general sense: "As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths." (Isaiah 3:12) Generally speaking, the Lord Himself says that when women lead, His people are caused to err. Deborah was an exception not a rule. This is precisely what Paul reinforces in the New Testament. Any argument about culture or the Corinthians church is woefully ignorant. Paul says, "And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence." (1 Timothy 2:12) but Paul does not give a cultural reason, but a deeply biblical and historical reason that is as binding today as it was when he said it. He says, "For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression." The reason has to do with the fall of man. Women are more prone to deception than men are and if you argue with this, feel free to rip 1 Timothy out of your bible and once you have done that, throw the whole thing in the trash, because you really don't care what it says. Eve was deceived not Adam (Read that verse again if you feel inclined to object). This does not mean that all women are deceived or that men can't be deceived, obviously, but it does mean that as a general rule women are more prone to spiritual deception and this is the reason Paul gives under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Himself. Paul says to the Corinthians something similar which clearly was not the result of culture as he wrote the same thing to Timothy who was in Ephesus. To the church in Corinth he writes: "Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church." (1 Corinthians 14:34-35) If you are poised to object, wait until you have read Paul's very next statement: "Or did the word of God come originally from you? Or was it you only that it reached? If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord." He immediately follows the command for women by saying that this was a commandment from the Lord. Verse 38 says that if anyone disregards this, they themselves ought to be disregarded. The qualifications of elders in the New Testament church presuppose them to be MEN: "A bishop then must be blameless, *the husband of one wife*" (1 Timothy 3:2) "Let deacons be *the husbands of one wife*" (1 Timothy 3:12) Jesus chose 12 MALE disciples After Judas, the disciples chose another MAN to take his place (Matthias) Jesus Himself came as a MAN (the Son) God the FATHER takes a masculine description There is not a single example of a female elder in the entire New Testament. NOW, this does not mean that women have no role to play or that women have no insights. It means that they are not to teach scripture to a mixed congregation or to have authority over a man. Women can and should teach other women and certainly children, but as for assuming leadership over a man; it is not to be. This is God's order. If you reject it, you are rejecting Him. Phoebe was NOT and elder in a church. She was a "servant" in Cenchrea. This is the same word for "deacon", but it is being used in an entirely different context, which is evident. Paul uses this word in various contexts, even referring to himself as a "deacon"; in Colossians 1:25 and Ephesians 3:7. But he was not referring to himself as one who had a specific function in a local church, but in a general sense he was a "servant"; or "minister"; Phoebe's role was important in serving the church but she was NOT a teacher in the church nor did she have authority over any men as a leader. Some have ignorantly claimed that Paul was only speaking about married couples in 1 Timothy 2:12 making the case that women can't have authority over their husbands but they can teach other men in the church. This is foolish. Paul says, "I permit not..."; He is speaking of how he orders assemblies as Paul was not establishing marriages but churches. This is evident because the very next verse is speaking bout Bishops in chapter 3. There were no chapter divisions in the original manuscripts. So, Paul was talking about forbidding women from teaching or having authority and immediately gives the qualifications for elders. This is the undeniable and irrefutable context. Women are not to be elders or leaders or teachers of men in the church. Women are given gifts and those gifts are to be used like any other gift; for the edification of the church. God is not the author of confusion. Leadership is male and when it is not, something has gone terribly wrong, and it is typically a sign of God's judgment. The unfortunate poison of feminism has infiltrated the church and what was once not a matter of contention is being questioned as modernity leads the way rather than simple obedience to simple precepts. God bless you.

Holy Quran, chapter 19: 16. And mention in the Scripture Mary, when she withdrew from her people to an eastern location. 17. She screened herself away from them, and We sent to her Our spirit, and He appeared to her as an immaculate human. 18. She said, “I take refuge from you in the Most Merciful, should you be righteous.” 19. He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.” 20. She said, “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, and I was never unchaste?” 21. He said, “Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for humanity, and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already decided.'“ 22. So she carried him, and secluded herself with him in a remote place. 23. The labor-pains came upon her, by the trunk of a palm-tree. She said, “I wish I had died before this, and been completely forgotten.” 24. Whereupon he called her from beneath her: “Do not worry; your Lord has placed a stream beneath you. 25. And shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you, and it will drop ripe dates by you.” 26. “So eat, and drink, and be consoled. And if you see any human, say, ‘I have vowed a fast to the Most Gracious, so I will not speak to any human today.'“ 27. Then she came to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have done something terrible. 28. O sister of Aaron, your father was not an evil man, and your mother was not a whore.” 29. So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to an infant in the crib?” 30. He said, “I am the servant of God. He has given me the Scripture, and made me a prophet. 31. And has made me blessed wherever I may be; and has enjoined on me prayer and charity, so long as I live. 32. And kind to my mother, and He did not make me a disobedient rebel. 33. So Peace is upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I get resurrected alive.” 34. That is Jesus son of Mary-the Word of truth about which they doubt. 35. It is not for God to have a child-glory be to Him. To have anything done, He says to it, “Be,” and it becomes. 36. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.” 37. But the various factions differed among themselves. So woe to those who disbelieve from the scene of a tremendous Day.

I love Pastor Carter Conlon but God's word says women aren't too teach or lead at church. I'm confused why this is happening here? Apostle Paul says not to teach or be an elder.
