I am going to the Alpha course at my local Catholic church . I hadn't been to church in 53 years , I was 17 the last time . After the first Alpha meeting I went home and watched a movie that was next in a bunch I downloaded and it was Barabus . This was not planned , it was random . I immediately related to this man who pushed and clawed his way through life making only bad acquaintances and as an older man was left with literally nothing . I thank God for the guidance to go back to Church and the help and prayers of the people in my Alpha group . This sermon has rocked me , it is speaking to me ,and I thank God for my arousal and seeing that he is there for a sinner like me .

I appreciate the posture of our dear brother. But we don't know the predestined love of God for His elect in Christ, toward every person i.e. (Barabbas). The distinction must be made for Christ precious blood that was shed on the Cross. It was specific for those that believe His chosen Bride not all of human history. Its His Gospel of salvation not ours.

On the next Sunday the priest divulged the confession and told the congregation about alter boys taking money from the collection plate, priest announced boys wowed being replaced by adults to collect the plate, at age 11 I was red faced sitting in shame , That church looks like a mansion now

@Logan McFeron I understand. Judah Smith is young and probably needs mentoring . Paying 100k to Hillsong to be on the A list for speaking engagements doesn’t sit well with me. I question all things Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation, and Andy Stanley. I struggle with the Bible because of conviction but wouldn't dare accuse God of blasphemy when it was His plan from the foundation of the earth. Humility questions but pride accuses.

We dont know what Jesus felt for Barrabas. Jesus knew his heart and Barrabas may have been a farisee type. A self-rightious person, a false teacher. In that case Jesus would not love him - but rather hated him. This preaching is not biblical.
