raja jahangir *Is Jesus God or is He the Son of God ?* Jesus said that He was not the Father more than 80 times. While remaining one in purpose and unity, Jesus and the Father are clearly two separate and distinct beings. On more than one occasion, the Father spoke to Jesus from heaven. “And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased'.” (Matthew 3:17) Either Jesus and the Father are two separate beings or Jesus was an expert ventriloquist. Jesus “asked His disciples, saying, Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am ? So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. He said to them, But who do you say that I am ? Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 16:13-17) This passage says that the FATHER who is in HEAVEN, revealed to Peter, that JESUS who was on EARTH, is none other than His Son. So what would you say if Jesus asked you who He was ? Would you say, “you are part of some 3 in 1 god and just role playing a son ?” Or would you be able to answer as Peter did ? “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Scripture in fact calls Jesus the Son of God over and over again,.but it never calls Him “god the son.” But how do we reconcile Hebrews and John chapter 1 which refer to Jesus as God ? These verses have confused many and yet the answer is so simple. The word God is used in two different ways in Scripture. Firstly, the word “God” is used to refer to the Supreme Being of the universe who is the ultimate source of all things. Every time the Bible refers to the one true God, it is referring to this supreme being who is the one that was before all else and from whom all life ultimately came. In this sense no one else is God. But the word God is also used to refer to someone who possesses the attributes of divinity, or the characteristics of God. Since Christ is the same substance of His Father, everything He consists of had no beginning. His divinity had no beginning, His makeup; His nature had no beginning as it all came from the Father. So in principle, everything Christ is had no beginning. If you trace Christ back you will have to go through the Father and you will never get to a beginning. But His personality as the Son of God began when He was brought forth by His Father. So Christ is essentially God in infinity but not in personality. His personality began when He was brought forth from the Father in the days of eternity or days of everlasting. This is the time before all things were created when there was nothing to measure time by. So in effect it was only the personality of Christ as the Son of God that had a beginning. So when we say Christ is God, we mean that He is the same substance of His Father and hence has the same God nature as His Father, but He is not God the Father. Scripture always calls Jesus the “Son of God,” but NEVER “god the son” as Trinitarians do, and with very good reason. “Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. HE WAS BEGOTTEN, NOT CREATED. He is of the SUBSTANCE OF THE FATHER, so that IN HIS VERY NATURE HE IS GOD; and since this is so “it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell.” Col. 1:19 ... While BOTH ARE OF THE SAME NATURE, the Father is first in point of time. He is also greater in that he had no beginning, while CHRIST'S PERSONALITY HAD A BEGINNING.” (E.J. Waggoner, ST, April 8, 1889) “This name [God] was not given to Christ in consequence of some great achievement, but it is His by right of inheritance. Speaking of the power and greatness of Christ, the writer to the Hebrews says that He is made so much better than the angels, because “He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” Heb. 1:4 A son always rightfully takes the name of the father; and Christ, as “the only begotten Son of God,” has rightfully the same name. A son, also, is, to a greater or less degree, a reproduction of the father; he has, to some extent, the features and personal characteristics of his father; not perfectly, because there is no perfect reproduction among mankind. But there is no imperfection in God, or in any of His works; and so Christ is the “express image” of the Father's person. Heb. 1:3 As the Son of the self-existent God, he has by nature all the attributes of Deity. It is true that there are many sons of God; but Christ is the “only begotten Son of God,” and therefore the Son of God in a sense in which no other being ever was, or ever can be. The angels are sons of God, as was Adam (Job 38:7; Luke 3:38), by creation; Christians are the sons of God by adoption (Rom. 8:14,15); but CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD BY BIRTH. The writer to the Hebrews further shows that the position of the Son of God is not one to which Christ has been elevated, but that it is one which He has by right.” (E.J. Waggoner, CAHR, p. 11-12) “For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;” (Colossians 1:19) Why does “all the fullness of the Godhead” dwell in Christ bodily ? Because Jesus is the firstborn over all creation (Colossians 1:15), and being brought forth from the Father, He has the same “divine nature” as He is the same substance as the Father. John 5:26 also tells us that the Father gave life to His Son. “For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the Son to have life in himself.” (John 5:26) If Jesus had always existed alongside the Father as the Trinity doctrine claims, then God could not have given life to His Son as He would have always had life. In John 5:23 Christ calls for all to honour the Son the same way you honour the Father and that anyone who does not do this dishonours the Father. John 8:39-40 Christ says to the Jews trying to stone him 'Why you trying to do this ? Abraham never did this.' Implying that he saw Abraham. In Revelation 1:17, 2:8 Christ calls himself the 'First and Last' But In Old Testament only God was the 'First and Last' Isaiah 44:6, 48:12 In Revelation 3:20 Christ says he is the one who knocks upon man's consciousness in order to be accepted as Lord and Saviour Revelation 4, 5 the Father and the Christ are eternally worshipped just as it was prophesied by the Prophet Daniel and quoted by Christ in Mark 14:62, Matthew 26:64 Revelation 21 Father is Alpha and Omega, Beginning and end he will be their God and they will be his son Revelation 22:13 Christ says he is Alpha and Omega, beginning and end, First and Last. In Isaiah 9:6 It states that there is a Child to be born a Son of God whose name is to be the Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Wonderful Counsellor In Micah 5:2 It States the Messiah Jesus Origin is Ancient and Everlasting. Genesis 19:24 Differentiates between 2 persons of YHWH even before the Shema of the Prophet Moses. In Zechariah 2:7-11 it States that YHWH would send YHWH and that YHWH will live with Zion. Etc

And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. (Quran 4:157) Read Hebrew 5:7 "While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God." He walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”(Luke 22:42)

Luke 24:36-47 Jesus never denied that He rose bodily, and also was extremely clear that He rose from the dead, according to the Prophets.

God brought me to watch this video again tonight, and i am finding more issues with it. 1) Why doesn't Ahmed mention all the scriptures where Jesus HIMSELF tells the disciples that he is going to be killed. He told Peter specifically that Peter cannot go where Jesus is going. Surely he did not mean heaven. 2) Why would Jesus tell Thomas to touch his hands (where he was nailed) and his side (where he was pierced while on the cross) if he did not die on the cross? 3) If God took Jesus to heaven BEFORE he was crucified, why is Jesus back on Earth again? Look, Muslims do not understand the Bible and I can prove it. Dr. Shabir Ally who is a well known scholar and debater is the author of "101 Contradictions in the Bible". This contradictions were all answered by Jay Smith btw. One of these "contradictions" is who was it that Jesus called from the tax collectors' table, Matthew or Levi? With a little research you can come to the conclusion that Matthew and Levi are the same person, but one of the names in Green while the other is in Hebrew. Now, if a well know scholar, someone who studied the Bible and Quran cannot understand such an easy difference and he actually calls it a contradiction, then how is he supposed to understand the rest of the Bible? Asking a Muslim to explain the Bible to you is like asking an atheist to explain God to you!

Scott Saunders first of all, most of the psalms are written by David. Jesus did not write anything. Second, Jesus never referred to the Father snd the Holy Spirit as “the Lord.” He referee to them as “the Father” when he was taking about the Father alone, and as “God” when he was referring to the other two beings in God (the Father and the Holy Spirit). Yet, if you look at the psalm, it says “the Lord” quite a few times. Verse 17 has nothing to do with verse 22.

Ok but he’s missing a point: he did appear and said that he’s alive and in flesh, but an apostle was missing. So Jesus appeared again when that apostle was there because he didn’t want to believe Jesus was alive, and Jesus told him to touch the signs from being crucified to believe that he was real, and so the apostle did and then he believed. So, if Jesus was not crucified, how did he have the signs from the crucification? Let’s not choose and present only the parts that we want from the Bible.

True, that spirit doesn't have flesh n bone, but how about flesh n bone who can walk through the wall, have you reconsider it?Jesus suddenly appear to His disciples in a locking chamber in Jerusalem and some other occasions too after the crucifixion. This make people think He was a ghost. An aspect you shouldn't disregard, this is showed, besides He has physical body, a living flesh n bone body BUT in which law of time & space, and gravity no longer apply to his post crucifixion body.

When the jews asked Jesus, how a resurected person looks like, Jesus said that the resurected person does not have flesh and bones, when he is resurected, he becomes a spirit, therefore when he came to the upper room, jesus was telling his deciples that he was not resurected i.e was not a spirit... meaning he was not resurected and he was not crucified... hope that answers ur question. Why were they terrified? Why they thought it was a spirit? Let me use a scenario: when a human goes through a trauma, and or is terrified, scared, etc this person is not able to react like any normal human would react to a situation. The same happened with the disciples their most trusted and reliable person with great powers, the son of God was crucified a death common to thieves and murderers. Then they don't find the body in the tomb. They as humans are so heartbroken at every stage although they try to find courage and step up but every time they find another shock and it makes things only worse. So in this case the disciples were unable to put their human mind together and make sense. That's the truth the reality of their behaviour is mentioned. Therefore they could not judge the situation and said it's a spirit. Also remember once a person dies we all know the spirit is what is left. The body is no longer in action. So out of shock all they could do is think of Jesus as a spirit even though they saw him in flesh. So Jesus had to bring their cognitive strength back. Just like the doctors do to their patients. Jesus tells them I am flesh not spirit. He asks for bread and eats Infront of them so they are made strong in their belief. Also if you put into context gospel of John 20:17 Jesus said to Mary do not hold me as I have not ascended into heaven which means Jesus has risen but because he was born as human just like every human he needs to go to heaven however In this case Jesus did not go to heaven instantly like humans do but took His time because He still had his last part of the mission before going to heaven. Jesus loved his disciples so much that He made sure He rebuilt their strength, take away all that trauma, fear and make them strong again for now he will handover His mission to them. Go and preach the gospel to the ends of the world Next just like you switch from one gospel to another to prove Ur points I kindly urge you to refer to all gospels to put your points in context. Mark 14:50 talks about when Jesus was arrested and taken to the temple. Which is true they were all scared and fled, abandoned Jesus. But, Mark 14:54 And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest, and he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire. Then next gospel of John 19:25-27 It says that, the most loved disciple John, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene and his sisters were present at the cross. So how come you can draw a conclusion that it was hearsay? In the upper room were also present who witnessed the death on the cross: Mary, Magdalene, Jesus's sisters (cousin), also John the most loved and the rest 9 disciples. So I understand English and I make sure before I come to a conclusion and ensure to refer to all the gospels and put into context each scripture. The resurrection & crucifixion are figures of speech. Ppl commonly used the term crucify to describe a trying time or difficulty. Resurrection means to rise up or come out of something, in this case it was a political process that was difficult.
