So Sheikh Hassan Ali, with your statement that Isa did not die on the cross because Allah changed his form to that of an innocent person who was about to be crucified, it means that Allah is sinful. How could Allah kill innocent man.... Not even the Koran knows who was crucified. God did not reveal who the innocent man who was transfigured into Isa was. Allah is not omniscient. Many Muslim scholar have many interpretations who was the innocent crucified.

Crucified & crucifixed has different meaning. To be crucifix means you have been out on a cross/ hung and (not) die. The individual is in a state of coma or near death from the torture method of the cross and still alive. To be crucified means you have put on the cross and (die) from your torture/wounds. The Quran says: They did not kill him nor was he ((crucified)) (but it was made to appear so) My itijehad (as I am entitled to one as recommended by the prophet saw) is that it was made to “appear so” meaning Isa (as) was in a state of coma but Allah swt later returned the soul in the cave in the same manner as when a individual is in a deep coma at a hospital then Allah swt raised Isa (as) body and spirit to the heavens for a while. A individual in a coma is not considered dead by the hospital staff. My question is how can Isa(as) return in his second coming if he died on the cross because every soul must taste death.. (my response to the Christians) To say another person took isa (as) appearance is false and is not a character of a merciful Allah to punish a innocent person that no body has truly identified in the first place. ( my response to my Muslim brothers & sisters) Allah is most wise, most reasonable ,and most merciful. Allah knows best.

I am a layman and a weak muslim but years ago when I read those verses it really did not bother me or even fry my brain...I just understood it as "Esa (AS) was not killed and crucified...I just believed that because Allah is all powerful, wise and all knowing, he can do anything and to make these enemies believe that they killed Esa(AS) is simple for Allah. How Allah did it is in the knowledge of Allah. Go back to the time of Moosa(AS) when those magicians made their ropes and sticks appear to be moving and alive like serpents, the crowd saw that and believed it, then the truth from Allah that was given to Moosa(AS) destroyed their lies and deception. So Allah can make anything appear to anyone and which ever way he wants.

Jazzak Allah khair exactly sums up my thoughts on the issue. Iv spent almost 20 years working daily and in great detail regarding the Prophet’s sirah PBUH & as such needed to dive deep into many Quran tafsir and hadith sharh works. I respect Sheikh Imran Hosein, I learned a lot from him. I would advise him whenever he interpretes a verse in the Quran he should say Allah knows best at least. I agree with you Sheikh, I got the same conclusion when I research this subject. But after I studied the methodology used by Sheikh Imran Husein for studying The Qur'an, I accept his view on this. The very fundamental problem I think is located on the methodology, so that's why there are several different interpretations on this subject. It will be wise if Sheikh Yasir give some comments on the methodology for study Qur'an used by Sheikh Imran Husein, because many of Sheikh Imran Husein opinions differ with mainstream ulama is caused by his methodology. But I'm very happy that many scholars in Islam right now is put some of their intentions on Sheikh Imran Husein Lecturers. May Allah bless for all our ulama.

The sad thing about crucifixion as said by Ahmad Deedat and confirmed by the book chronicles of the Roman empire, 'a crucified person is always exzibited completely nude for the public, I am certain Allah willl not allow for d nakedness of prophet Issah (Jesus) to be dehumanised to this nasty extent. Friend, Jesus Christ clearly stated that anyone who DENIES his crucifixion is inspired by SATAN. This is found in the Gospels which are confirmed (if you believe the Qur’an) as the eternal and unalterable (incorruptible) word of Allah and which Christians had with them and should judge themselves by. (QS 18:27, 5:43, 5:47, 3:3-4, 6:115 and 7:157). It's the Qur'ans dilemma! Does the Qur'an know WHY the Jewish high priests wanted to have Jesus crucified in the first place? Only SATAN would DENY the crucifixion. Jesus said-referring to his crucifixion- that SATAN would be DEFEATED at the cross: “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world (SATAN) be CAST OUT. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth [crucified], will draw all men unto me.” John 12:31‭-‬32 If you DENY the crucified Jesus, you will die in your sins (John 8:7). It's a decision between eternity in heaven or in hell. SATAN hates the power of the crucifixion because it is FOR us and not AGAINST us. It is the power of salvation. ‘From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” But He [Jesus] turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, SATAN! The brother in the video completely misunderstood Sheikh Imran Hussain when he mentioned death and Allah taking the soul and returning it. Sheikh Imran Hussain said that death is defined when Allah takes a person’s soul and doesn’t return it. Can Allah return a person’s soul? Of course! In many cases people’s souls are returned and therefore they don’t die. When Sheikh Imran Hussain said “School boy return and learn the Qu’ran” he was trying to say that some people when they’re about to die have their souls returned and get to live on like a second chance and for these people to take this second chance and learn and follow Islam through the Qu’ran. The brother in the video disagrees with Sheikh Imran Hussian about taking Jesus’s body off the cross and putting it in a cave and sealing it off… That part I agree with. Sheikh Imran Hussain gave an explanation without any reference to the Qu’ran. He basically said what he thinks is the situation but there is no textual basis. When doing something like that, you have to state very clearly that this is your thought and not directly from the Qu’ran or Hadith. Sheikh Imran Hussain is usually very clear and gives references to everything so this is surprising. However, he is very passionate and very angry at people for not being critical of the Qu’ran and I think this is one situation where his anger got the better of him. In the end Allah knows best so unless this matter males or breaks your beliefs, say Allah hu alam and move on. We will know what happened when Jesus returns inshaAllah.

I have watched many of Sheikh Imran’s talks, he has taught me a lot about the evils of interest, how riba has destroyed many nations, including Muslim nations. He is popular because he makes it clear that interest is haram, that interest mortgages and loans are not permitted for the true believers. Most Muslim scholars won’t talk about interest or the Dajjal, hence the Shiekh is very well respected. Many scholars will make mistakes, but to make huge mistakes, often totally against Islamic teachings, is irresponsible and misleading the people. Friend, Jesus Christ clearly stated that anyone who DENIES his crucifixion is inspired by SATAN. This is found in the Gospels which are confirmed (if you believe the Qur’an) as the eternal and unalterable (incorruptible) word of Allah and which Christians had with them and should judge themselves by. (QS 18:27, 5:43, 5:47, 3:3-4, 6:115 and 7:157). It's the Qur'ans dilemma! Does the Qur'an know WHY the Jewish high priests wanted to have Jesus crucified in the first place? Only SATAN would DENY the crucifixion. Jesus said-referring to his crucifixion- that SATAN would be DEFEATED at the cross: “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world (SATAN) be CAST OUT. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth [crucified], will draw all men unto me.” John 12:31‭-‬32 If you DENY the crucified Jesus, you will die in your sins (John 8:7). It's a decision between eternity in heaven or in hell. SATAN hates the power of the crucifixion because it is FOR us and not AGAINST us. It is the power of salvation. ‘From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” But He [Jesus] turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, SATAN! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:23 Any attempt to "save" Jesus from crucifixion would have been SATANIC. Besides, Jesus stated that he could call 12 legions of angels (72 000) to save him from the crucifixion by the Romans if he so wanted but he would not since scripture had to be fulfilled! (Matthew 26:53) According to Jesus, any person, book or authority which DENIES his crucifixion is of SATAN, offensive and is not mindful of the things of God. The same is true of QS 4:157, which strangely comes 6 CENTURIES AFTER THE EVENT and DENIES-against the testimony of Mary the Mother of Jesus and the disciple John who were with Jesus while he was on the cross. Why? Because Jesus knew the details and purpose of his crucifixion in advance. Jesus stated that he was going to "lay down his life for his friends". According to the law of Moses, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Jesus says, "just as the Son of Man did not come to be SERVED, but to SERVE, and to give His LIFE a ransom for MANY.” Matthew 20:28. Jesus is the SERVANT of Isaiah 53 of the Jewish scripture (written long before the Greek, Rome, Paul and Nicea) who bared his soul unto DEATH and bore the SINS OF MANY. Isaiah 53:12 Tanakh Jewish Bible Soon after his resurrection, Jesus was seen by all his disciples and more than 500 others and spent 40 days with them before ascending to heaven in the same manner that he shall descend to judge the world. Not even the 5 pillars of Islam will save you, for in reality the Hajj of the Hajr e aswad (which "expiates sins") and the takbir "Allahu Akbar" to it is IDOLATROUS, an ABOMINATION and BLASPHEMOUS to the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Leviticus 26:1) 'Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who PIERCED Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7

Salamalaikum. Just wanted note an observation. Having heard Imran Hosein's explanation of the cruxifixction and also the traditional explanation of the cruxifixction, at first his (Imran Hosein's) version was controversial to me too but with time I realised, knowing both interpretations won't really throw us off the main gist of Islam and that Allah is one and to worship him. Disagreements like the above are matters for scholars and it is okay to differ in having our own interpretation. As long as we acknowledge that we might be wrong and that Allah knows best. The problem I think why most traditional scholars cannot accept Imran Hosein's scholarship of work is because he also includes other fields of study into his work for instance history, finance, geopolitics which many traditional scholars today do not. Traditional scholars only rely on Islamic history, and draw only upon knowledge from within Islam. For instance the part about the body being brought down and put into a cave is historical fact. Even if it rooted in the bible, this is a historical fact even historians do not deny. The question for us though is is that 'body' that of Isa A.S. or not. Allahualam. Another observation is that based on the first traditionally accepted explanation that your put forth is that someone went into the tent of Isa with the intention of killing him but failed and came out of the tent with his face changed and was then killed. I don't think there is a historical account of this either. Don't get me wrong, this interpretation was from a sahabah but he was not there 600 years earlier to witness this incident hence there is not real account of it happening. I'm just using this as an example of why people still gravitate to Imran Hosein 's body of work because it is more holistic and makes a lot more sense. To reject some of those 'evidence' without properly studying it or simply because it is not from within Islamic source only is not very scholarly. And again Allah knows best.

And no, not every historian agrees with the buring version of the story, as an example of such a disagreement two italian priests/ historians ( reseatchers in biblical history ) who concluded that the only explanation, after many researches and studies, is that someone else than Jesus 3aleyhi salam was taken for being him amd crucified.

The problem is most scholars don't produce their evidence other than to say this other scholar said so. I mean wouldn't it be better if they can cite the name of the actual person or incident where this happened. Let me just say for the record, I don't know what happened other than that Allah said Jesus "was not killed nor crucified but it was made to appear to them(sic) so". Within that alone there are many ways to interpret as to how it happened which we probably don't need to know specifically. But can we not take the stand that if you don't agree with one version, that means you're automatically become a disbeliever? Come on.

Shaykh Hasan Ali is right: the Quran doesn't say that Isa died at the cross (Allah took his soul), he was laid in a cave, and then Allah returned his soul. That are declarations of the Bible about Jesus. But: isn't the Bible Allah's word? _"O you who believe! Believe in God and His messenger, and the Book He sent down to His messenger, and the Book He sent down before. Whoever rejects God, His angels, His Books, His messengers, and the Last Day, has strayed far in error."_ (Sura 4:136). So is Sheikh Imran Hosein wrong when he claims that Allah took his soul and returned it and therefore the life of Isa (on earth!) didn't really end by cruzifixion? It's in the words of Allah!!! And that fits perfectly with Sura 19:33, where Jesus states: _"So Peace is upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I get resurrected alive."_ He knew about this: first his death on the cross (when Allah took his soul), and then his resurrection (when Allah returned his soul). A resurrection without a death is nonsense. Could Isa say such a nonsense and could Allah confirm this nonsense by writing it in his book? But if you insist on this interpretation of substitution you will get massive problems: Then you will get contradictions in the words of Allah. 1. About the most important events in Isa's life: Did he never die, has he never been resurrected but raised up alive (as this interpretation of Sura 4:157-158 demands)? Or did he die and was resurrected again (as Sura 19:33 clearly states) and raised up after this happened? 2. About the previous revelations of Allah: Is Sura 4:136 right (and Sura 10:94, and Sura 2:146-147, ...)? Then Allah had sent down a revelation before the Quran, and that clearly means the Bible. And when the Bible is Allah's word, then Isa / Jesus has been cruzified and was resurrected to live on earth until he was raised up. So what is more likely: contradictions in Allah's words or a misinterpretation of his words by human beings?

Not necessarily true, Imran Hosein has the credentials, valid eschatology and knowledge in itself comes from God and through people who critically think regardless of "epistemology' which was introduced by agnosticism and theologians . Also this Sheikh follows the deoband approach to methodology. I’m not a follower of sheikh Imran. I would like to point out something and then ask a question. According to the historical records the Roman governor of Judah at the time, Pontus pilate, did prosecute and crucify “someone”. Thereafter the body was taken to a cave. Now this is not in the Quran but is likely to have occurred. There is historical record of this as well as of Pontus Pilate being summoned to the Roman courts for the crime of crucifixion and was found guilty of this charge. I can send references for this assertion if required. I think sheikh Imran takes some of this history to include his interpretation. With regards to crucifixion versus crucifixion and ensuing death the Quran is clear that there was no crucifixion of Nabi Essa irrespective of whether death ensued or not period. So I do agree with u in this regard. But that does not mean the historically witnessed crucifixion did not occur as I’m sure u are well aware. Someone was crucified and this led to a deception. Is it that for the blatant set up of the “murder” of Nabi Essa Allah deceives the culpable bani Israel? My question is why the deception? Allah is infinitely just as we can Allah agree. I’m looking for the explanation of the justice behind the deception of crucifying someone other than Nabi Essa which then results in a people other than the bani Israel believing his ascension to be miraculous which then breeds the concept of Essa being the son of god which has now multiplied to close to 2 billion people? Bear in mind that the concept of Nabi Essa being the son of God was largely promoted by Paul who was a Jew and a critic of Nabi Essa during his nabuwat. He then leads astray non Jewish people. My impression is that if crucifixion did not occur then why the deception which then leads to so much kufr afterwards?

When Allah talks about Room in the Quran you have to go back to time and locate in the time of prophet where was "Room" who was Room. In our time one might say its Rome in Italy but that will be wrong Room in the time of revelation of the Quran was kustantinia modern day Istanbul. Rather he makes a clear distinction of death and sleep. he clearly says when Allah takes the soul and does not return it that means person is dead and when Allah takes the soul in sleep and to those whom death is written he does not return their souls and those whose souls are returned by Allah are not dead. According to science as well in our times sleep is similitude of death but you are not dead. Please try listening to him carefully the old mans wisdom is amazing you will have to have patience.

The sheik is a no doubt a knowledgeable man but Allah has given us a brain to learn ourselves. Actually Sheikh Imran himself said we can doubt and check his interpretations if we are not convinced. This is no defending of the Sheikh. Just observation. Also don't like arrogance and swearing; no side. Certain things are clearly taken from Injeel, Bible. This means he hasn't 'changed' the Quran. But taken from other sources. It is a difficult topic. Nevertheless it is not important for us what exactly happened. More important is he is alive. Isa bin Mariam didn't die. Isa bin Mariam is alive and taken to heaven. And he will return and surely clarify. Quran 4:157: "...but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them...". Accordingly whatever happened only appeared to them the way it happened. Whatever exactly happened Allah knows best.

So let me get this straight, the Old Testament prophesies and foreshadows the Messiah's death for others' sins and His resurrection, in the Gospel (which the Quran commands you to believe and me to judge by) Jesus forwarned His disciples that He would die and shed His blood for a New Covenant for the forgiveness of sins of many and that He would rise again, and after that all happened in extreme detail in each of the four Gospel records, He explained to His Disciples that it HAD to happen according to The Scriptures, and Jesus crucifixion has been called one of the most certain facts of history, and even an atheistic scholar had to admit that Jesus' disciples had resurrection experiences though he couldn't tell the nature of those experiences, and Jesus left us physical evidence of His crucifixion and resurrection... and 600+ years later, Muhammad said in a single verse that it didn't happen (even though Jesus in the Quran says peace is upon Him the day He was born, the day He WOULD DIE, and the day He WOULD BE RAISED TO LIFE AGAIN), and this verse is very stupid (just like the rest of the book) in that it has the Jews bragging that they killed the Messiah (that they had been waiting for), AND in that it provides NO EXPLANATION of how this suppisedly didn't happen (I thought the Quran was supposed to be clear), AND if it were true (which it isn't), then that would mean Islam's Allah (the Best of Deceivers who leads astray whomever he wills according to the Quran - which is actually a description of Satan in the Bible) DECEIVED everyone and created Christianity through his deception! Luke 20:36 does not say resurrected people are only spirits, and by the way He says in vs35 that they are NOT given in marriage like in Islam's sex-filled carnally minded "paradise". 1 Cor 15:42, read the context, Paul is talking about different kinds of BODIES, and do not confuse spiritual with spirit (PS, 1 Corinthians 15:1-7 may be the earliest Christian creed, dated to just a few years after the cross, which Paul is passing on, in which it says that Christ died for our sins, was burried, and rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by over 500 people!.) Biblically speaking, we all have a spirit, soul, & body. Your spirit/soul is always with you (it is the real you), and one can be absent from the body and present with the Lord (2 Cor 5:8) (or in Hell, like Muhammad). The day of Resurrection is when people receive NEW enhanced/glorified bodies that can't be destroyed. E.g. Paul says in Romans 8:23 that we wait for the REDEMPTION OF OUR BODY. Now, in Luke 24:39, Jesus is reassuring His disciples that He's not some sort of ghost... considering He just suddenly appeared in the middle of their group (which we read elsewhere were in hiding behind closed doors). And notice He did not say flesh and blood, becuase He blood was spilled out for the New Covenant (see the Last Supper passages). Furthermore, any CHILD could simply READ the last two chapters of each of the four Gospel accounts (three for John) and see that Jesus' physical body did in fact die, and did in fact raise from the dead (and He even warned His disciples multiple times before that it would happen). In fact, IN THE SAME CHAPTER, which you OBVIOUSLY DID NOT READ... or are INTENTIONALLY LYING ABOUT... Luke 24:44-49, Jesus CLEARLY says that He rose from the dead according to the Scriptures: "44. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46. And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48. And ye are witnesses of these things. 49. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. 50. And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 51. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. 52. Friend, Jesus Christ clearly stated that anyone who DENIES his crucifixion is inspired by SATAN. This is found in the Gospels which are confirmed (if you believe the Qur’an) as the eternal and unalterable (incorruptible) word of Allah and which Christians had with them and should judge themselves by. (QS 18:27, 5:43, 5:47, 3:3-4, 6:115 and 7:157). It's the Qur'ans dilemma! Only SATAN would DENY the crucifixion. You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:23 Any attempt to "save" Jesus from crucifixion would have been SATANIC. Besides, Jesus stated that he could call 12 legions of angels (72 000) to save him from the crucifixion by the Romans if he so wanted but he would not since scripture had to be fulfilled! These were shadows of the real sacrifice to come. If you DENY the crucified Jesus, you will die in your sins (John 8:7). It's a decision between eternity in heaven or in hell. Not even the 5 pillars of Islam will save you, for in reality the Hajj of the Hajr e aswad (which "expiates sins") and the takbir "Allahu Akbar" is IDOLATROUS, an ABOMINATION and BLASPHEMOUS to the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Leviticus 26:1) 'Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who PIERCED Him. Shaik - First of all I really like and appreciate the way you are responding to Imran Hussein. Jazakallahu Khair for highlighting this guy, there are lot more on web these days and honestly it’s really difficult for a common man to differentiate who is right. The only way atleast for me is to identify is what platform the knowledge is being shared. For example- if something is shared on Hanifi Fiqh Channel I can Alhamdulillah accept blindly. I don’t the challenges that the team was facing to post any videos in the last few months.. But please enlighten the ummah with the right knowledge
