Jesus’ Standard for Relating to Others | Matthew

The standard that Jesus sets about how to relate to others is very different from the world’s standard. Jesus teaches things like: we are to keep the promises we make; we are to “turn the other cheek” when insulted; and we are to love those who mistreat or malign us. The world’s approach is completely the opposite. But as Christians we must follow His example even when the rest of the world lives and acts differently. Jesus is not calling us to be pacifists or to roll over and let people take advantage of us. But He is calling us to take the higher road, to honor Him, and to let God deal with those who might mistreat or malign us.

I, too, thank you for your Bible Study series. Having been saved at a very young age and regularly attending church since birth, I rarely hear a sermon or Bible study that I don’t feel like I have heard a million times before. But your Bible study series has not been like that. From each teaching I learn something new or hear a new perspective which not only challenges and inspires me, but helps me to understand scripture better. I once had a job boss I was not getting long with, now I a hard worker, always doing my best at what ever I do, I know this was not good not to get a long with my boss, Knowing I needed to change things up, I started be friendly with, you know talk to him, asking how his at fishing went,...etc.etc. You know what, In a short time he started treating me better. Read your Bible, it will help you in your daily life.
