Thank you Gary for your diligence in going through the bible verse by verse! Your faithfulness to God is admirable especially in a time when most pastors only preach salvation and choose to skip over such relevant but sometimes controversial topics!! God Bless

I've read this many times. And b4 hearing your message. I am contemplating divorce. My wife of 23 yrs has cut me off for the last 15 yrs. As a believer, I know God hates divorce. So do I. But I am tired of this emotional abandonment of the marriage. As a last effort I am going to take a marriage class with my wife in september. If it does not work, after all these years, I am seriously contemplating divorce. If I wanted to be alone, I would have never would have gotten married.. She refuses to talk about it. I feel sad I'm thinking of doing it. We are living like roommates. And I want a wife. I pray this class works.

Dear Pastor Gary, please continue to enlighten the younger generation too on the importance of commitment and striving in a marriage. Please continue to expose the darts of the evil one and help people understand how he has been attacking marriages which began in the Garden of Eden and still goes on. Preach like you’ve never preached before on the importance of “Till Death Do Us Part”.

I’m more interested in remarriage when the original spouse is alive. It’s clear that divorce is okay for pornea, but remarriage is expressly prohibited when the original spouse is still alive according to the scriptures. Romans 7:3, Mark 10:11, Luke 16:18, etc. It’s a scary reality that so many churches are okay with their patrons living in adultery. We need to realize obedience to God surpasses any feeling of a “need” to be happy in this life. In fact, we should expect pain and misery on this side of eternity and we are to be so grateful when it isn’t so bad. Let’s be obedient to our Lord and Savior! God bless!❤

You are right. All remarriage is ongoing adultery as long as the first spouse is still alive. I always watch the end of these messages because they put grace as a license to remain in remarriage adultery when they wouldn't say the same thing to someone who is in a gay marriage. It's not repentance to keep in the sinful lifestyle.

I got married never imagining I would ever get divorced. We both often said we didn’t believe in divorce. After like 6-7 years it went south, hard! Then he has 3-4 affairs that I know of! Gets someone else preg and then we divorced… never imagined it tho.

25:45 what happen to when the one committed adultery remorseful, repent and ask forgiveness to the LORD and to the spouse but yet the spouse does not want to forgive? Question: 1. Does God forgive the one who committed adultery in above situation? 2. Does it mean the one who committed adultery will not have sin forgiven because the spouse does not forgive the offender?

The adulterer broke the=marriage covenant. God forgives when the one who sinned is truly sorrowful and repents. The spouse has every righty o not stay in the marriage. Forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation. The innocent spouse may need much time to get to forgiveness of the adulterer. There are consequences that need to be paid.

That is still the case in Israel, when you marry through the rabbinical court in Israel, only a man can divorce his wife. If a wife wants a divorce the man has to give her a get. :(

I listened to your message thought it was great until I reach the end. The scriptures say if he marries another he committed adultery and also causes his second wife to commit adultery. Their relationship is an adulterous one. When does he stop committing adultery, when he asked God for forgiveness? Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery, “leave your life of sin and sin no more. Turning from the sin is God’s expectation. John was beheaded because he preached that It was wrong for Herod to have his brother wife. Thanks be to God that someone can hear God’s voice and repented of adultery by going back to his first wife, because God words are more important. A gay married family is not accepted in the church such marriage would have to be terminated, they can’t pray as you suggested for the adulterous couple and asked God for His continuous forgiveness on the marriage. Why must a adulterous marriage couple stay in the relationship and asked for God forgiveness when God said the adulterous will not enter into the Kingdom of God. At what point this relationship become unadulterated in God sight.

I don't think that's right, especially in the example he gave in the video. 1 Corinthians 7:17-20 speaks about a person staying in the situation they were in when they were called. In this case, the man made bad decisions in ignorance and was a slave to the world, but he grew in faith and learned God's teachings. He shouldn't go backward to try to undo a past sin. He was called by God in his current marriage, so he should stay in his current marriage. Ask for forgiveness and continue to do God's will from that point on.

Isn't the part at 4.45 a contradiction? The divorced woman could also be so, because of her spouse being sexually immoral.

Glad that the man in his 2nd marriage didn't listen to you tell him to remain in adultery. You wouldn't tell a man in a gay marriage to remain in that marriage. God said that marriage is ONLY one man to ONLY one woman, so all remarriage while the first spouse is still alive is ongoing adultery that will be judged by God- Hebrews 13:4. You must have a church of Thyatira with divorced and remarried people, and unless they repent and forsake the adultery (according to JESUS), they will go into great TRIBULATION and Jesus will kill their children. Wake up and warn people to live holy. They don't have to reconcile with the first spouse, but they have to be made a eunuch/celibate and stay single if divorced. Forgiven of adultery? Then go and sin no more like Jesus commanded. If not, you will be left behind.

I have heard this many times where they say that the fornication was before marriage and when you married and you found out, she was not a virgin because she did not bleed. Therefore, he had the right to divorce her. Yes, in that time Jews had a divorce for an engagement. As well, however, there’s also a word for virginity in the Greek, why then did Jesus not use that word instead used a word that covered sexual immorality in itself. This is a big question. I’ve asked myself over and over again.

I don’t know what you’re trying to convey but adultery and fornication are both wrong.
