"I have a Celtic mindset." As practicing Lutheran from my early youth, it sums up my sometimes unease around this concrete German expression of religion. All good people, but imagination is not their strong suit. Great and much needed conversation. Cheers, mates!!

“I see the gospels in 20 thousands different levels, but the level of reality of Christ walking around a small region, around a lake, and bending reality, I take that, and if I didn’t I wouldn’t have lingered with it, it wouldn’t be derailing me.” Shaw M.

Fantastic talk. Would love to hear Martin speak about AI and that ‘world’ we are being corralled into.

Many thanks for this discussion, it touched on several ‘issues’ , questions I’ve had , still meditate on. I read Black Elk Speaks back in the 70s, it had a strong impact opened my eyes to an an appreciation of Native American culture and spirituality. It was a shock to learn later that he converted to Catholicism. The pearls, diamonds are buried so deep, hidden, but the fragrance is unmistakable, defying all attempts by the other to deny….peace

As St. Augustine said "That which is known as the Christian religion existed among the ancients, and never did not exist." All the ancient religions were Christian but they were pre-incarnation versions of Christianity. A recently discovered text written by the Chinese Emperor who ruled during the time of Christ's life on earth discloses that he knew that the God they worshiped, who bore an amazing resemblance to Yahweh, had incarnated in the West and been crucified thus saving Humanity. Christianity did not "borrow" or "steal" pagan rites, rituals, and stories, Christianity fulfilled them. And that's also why the great cathedrals of Christianity are often built over sacred pagan sites. It's the same religion. The main difference is that Christianity is post-incarnation, crucification, and resurrection of the Being of this Universe. So, practicing pagan religions now is pointless, atavistic, and can even be considered "evil," as those practices are out of sync with the current time and needs of Humanity. When the indigenous Americans talked about "The Elders" and the "Holy People," they were talking about the very same angelic hierarchies of the Christian world.

The crucifixion as “the great poetic event” where the poetic is the creation or making of a thing. Christ cries, “it is finished”.

I will kindly argue with your statement about wisdom not being marketable. People are always searching for answers to things and if you say wrote a book with a title like "secrets to life revealed" or something like that people will be intrigued enough to want to buy that book. Another example, some people view the yogic culture as full of wisdom and that was proven to be a very marketable subject. Marketing is about making something look VALUABLE to a person if i were to describe it simply. There is substantial value to wisdom because it encompasses the aspect of living life to its upmost potential. I would kindly suggest that if you have wisdom to share to take time to take my perspective into into play. You may have wisdom yourself to share and i believe wisdom should never be held to yourself but shared as that is the main element the world is missing just as you said its not as abundant in society anymore.

What im saying is we tend to glorify old mythology but rarely do you see anyone trying to produce something similar today. Maybe the world desires a mythology for the modern time which we could relate to easier now rather than as layman trying to understand greek mythology without any expertise in ancient greek culture for proper context.

So a idea that i think the world needs wisdom on is "when to listen" and "when not to listen." Or in other words, "have a open mind but know how to sift through ideas and remove any idea which is harmful for your life." In my opinion I would say the relationship between love and pain is the most important idea in this world. For me i believe pain is the reflection of love. So if God is the perfect version of love to exist, then to me this would explain why the world is as crazy as it is. Say before the beginning of the universe having any sort of physical manifestation you could say it was just God or one source that is nondual. But say if love is the first expression of physical existence this would mean that it would have to be thus defined in some sorts. So to define it there must be a expression i believe to be pain or destruction. So i see pain as the reminder of God's love rather than just being something treated as negative. Pain is a teacher but requires courage to face it head on. Most of us will try to forget our pain but in that pain there is always a subtle lesson which is personal only to you (in most cases except for physical pain which is an obvious lesson). For someone that has gone through alot of trauma usually their response might be something like "well God is evil and he does not like me." But say if there was a aspect of God which is impossible change even for Him then i would say its possible for any of us with this idea of "God is evil" to change; afterall in the christain narrative it is said we are created in His image. What i find interesting about the idea of evil and good is that people of evil and good nature all want to "feel good" at the end of the day. I would define evil as the bastardization of the persuit of feeling good or the bastardization of love. I would never categorize pain with evil but yes evil does cause pain and through that pain you gain wisdom on how to steer away from evil.
