by Ludwig von Zinzendorf, 1700-1760 Translated by John Wesley, 1703-1791
This is a wonderful hymn that glorifies Christ and his work on the cross that was to benefit ALL of Mankind. Each verse is powerful and should fill us with faith and boldness to tell others of God's great love towards us all. In contradicting the teaching of Calvin the writer makes it clear that Christ died on the the cross to pay the penalty of us all.
Lord, I believe were sinners more
Than sands upon the ocean shore,
Thou hast for all a ransom paid,
For all a full atonement made.
May God bless you with these great words and original tune.
Peace and grace
Andrew
