I don't have an issue with her leaving because everyone is different in how they handle these things. The other girls unfortunately have their fair share of stress and trauma that they go through and whatnot, but just because they stick it out and work through it doesn't necessarily mean that she should or could. Her mental state after 10 years probably couldn't handle anymore of that stress and criticism and comparisons and whatnot, so she left. People clown her for disregarding Leigh-Ann's struggle with racism by saying something like "She seems to handle it better than me or how I would" or something like that, which to me just sounds like her saying that Leigh-Ann handles her own drama in a much stronger manner or than she does with hers. Honestly the only thing that just seems really odd to me is how quick she came back, but I've seen plenty times that some people just bounce back real quick when they get to the place that they want to be in. And it seems like she's in that place now, so I guess its whatever. Not a surprise people side eyeing because she suddenly dropped a single not even a year after leaving little mix but, I guess that she just needed to have a little time to get in her comfort zone and do whatever. I just hope that here on, she would try to stay more true to her own roots and whatever else and try not to do the things black people too since its not very liked or accepted, especially in America. It does sorta annoy me tho how people keep saying “well she talked about how it was draining her mental health but then only a few months later coming back as a solo artist and looking happy as ever.” Firstly, I do think how fast she came back with only a few months before talking about how it’s draining her mental health is a bit suspicious but remember that everyone is different, and maybe she just had gotten in a better place in a very short amount of time, and if that’s the case, good for her, but secondly, she never said being an artist was the cause of the downfall to her mental state, but rather being in a girl group, which I can imagine how tough it is and she has even said herself how she was constantly expected to meet expectations while also being compared to the other girls. All of the girls went through public scrutiny. Perrie was bullied for dating Zayn Malik by the crazy 1D fans and when they split up she got it even worse. Jade was made fun of for being too skinny and "Arab." Leigh got it for being black. They all got bullied, that's why ppl felt like it was a cop out for Jesy to leave the way she did. And her being a culture vulture is especially tough because she didn't support Leigh when Leigh was speaking out on colorism or racism, she never spoke out about BLM or other black issues, but she has no problem making money off of black culture.

I think jesy definitely used the bullying as an excuse to go solo as opposed to being upfront about it. Yeah, she was bullied. But the facts are, Leigh Ann was the one bullied the most. The woman was getting shit thrown at her at least twice every tour. Yeah Jesy struggled, but I don’t think that had anything to do with her going solo. Going solo put MORE eyes on her. people are saying “now she gets to experiment and not hold back” but that has nothing to do with what was said. You play it safe when you want to avoid attention. She said she left because she was getting bullied. Yet, after leaving every single choice she’s made has out MORE attention in herself and gotten her more backlash. If she was really worried about critics she would’ve stayed in the group where she had three other girls to hide behind if it came to that, or she would’ve quit. That’s just the reality of the situation. Going solo means she will ALWAYS be compared to little mix, not only that, but now she’s getting compared to other female solo artists,plus other men AND women who left groups to pursue solo careers. She explicitly stated that this idea of leaving the group came when quarantine hit in 2020 and she finally got time away from the group. The passion for going solo came after she was hit up by her producer to come into the studio and write some stuff to take her mind off of it. She also said that she always thought she'd be in Little Mix forever before quarantine. Kind of disappointed in Empressive. This narrative that she's faking it is so misinformed and invalidating. I honestly think the reason she left had more to do with the relationship between the girls and the label/management because like a month after she left she was posting pics in the studio and on ig and not even a year later she’s releasing solo music. she’s still maintaining her public presence, people are still gonna comment on her weight, blackfishing and she will still be compared to the girls and other solo artists. she has to do interviews, videos and performances solo where she won’t be able to hide behind or depend on the girls if her mental and physical isn’t good.
