But I was drawn to its space science fiction setting, so I got it anyway. I disliked it for the first hour, mostly because the control scheme felt strange. But after I got used to it, my love for this game just grew and grew. It is amazing, and I am always searching for something else like this, but I have not been successful. Possibly the best game on the n64. The worlds are massive with tons of secrets, both mandatory and not, the music makes Robin Beanland one of the best composers in rare and thats saying something! You should also bring up the difficulty as this game is a behemoth in that aspect. Gone are the managable difficulty of dkc and banjo-kazooie, this pushes the difficulty to its length without going battletoads on our asses.

This game was a gem, i feel that your comment on the graphics is pretty accurate, saying it wasnt too apealing even at the time, but i wish you mentioned some of the other aspects of multiplayer in this game, like that robot you could use to play adventure mode as 2 player and the battle arena, back in the day that was value in content, not many adventure games allowed you to play coop in any way and not every adventure game had a multiplayer mode included

The expert control scheme in this game is absolutely perfect. The use of holding R to switch to tank control mode and using the C buttons to move was so forward thinking and really makes the game. It’s also really nice that you can jump while strafing, especially when running. Not possible on the normal control scheme due to button assignments. Expert feels so fluid and well designed. You’re used to it by the end of level 1 if you mess about just a bit. I’ve played through the game with both normal and expert controls many times, expert is the best.

That intro blew my mind back in the day ❤ I was ready for adventure in the load out screen . That music is awesome and made me feel ready to kick butt 🎉
