Guitar and bass - he was master of the sound - and 36-24-36 remains my favourite.

Amazing, and it demonstrates perfectly Jet's abilities to a T. To be honest, I do not believe anyone has ever come close to bettering him as a bassist.

Never take anything away from Jet ,in the early 60’s he was great but don’t forget about the who’s John Entwistle

Probably not THE best. Very good certainly. Extremely competent. But easily equalled by any good sessions bassist. The difference here is that Jet was a Shadow, and that's what counts....

That picture on the guitar book, Doesn't Jet have a similar look to Clint Eastwood? Mean And Moody???

Oh yes, as a teenager jet was the god of "I'm too good to be here" and moody magnificence

Hmm, this poor bugger suffered because Biff Pilchard was after nailing Jet's missus. And said lady was apparently enamoured of Biff and married Jet to be closer to Biff. Or so I read somewhere. The upshot was that Jet bailed on a potentially stellar future because he couldn't stand the thought of staring at the back of the head of a bozo who was screwing his wife. Would any of us react differently? Jet gave the Shadows their name, and was probably the best bassist the Shadows ever had. Not suggesting that subsequent Shadows bassists were or are any less competent, but Jet was the original, and a quintessential Shadow....
