Man, I wish SEGA would make another one of these, it's too bad they're too busy trying to make it look like Sonic Boom never happened. I always thought it would be cool to have an open world extreme sports game like jet set or tony hawk's underground. I don't want it to be the Skyrim/GTA kind of open world though, I'd just like a JSR game where you could go from area to area without load times.
@DaveControlLive7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I mean... in a way, that's really all they'd have to do. (Make it so there areas were connected with no load times).
@charliec.13477 жыл бұрын
definitely. I love me an open world, but I sometimes miss the level-by-level format of the old days. I find it much easier to grow attached to a game's world when each individual area is clearly defined. when I play a Mario game, I can brag to my friends by using the level I'm on as a measuring tool for my progress. I can't do that in GTA (as much as I love that series) because the entire map is accessible almost immediately. in my opinion, a potential JSR3 would benefit more from a world that's open on a technical level but is still segmented into different zones, kind of like Dark Souls and Jak. Man that was a long comment, my fingers hurt from typing so much. love the video by the way, give yourself a pat on the back.

I remember playing the game, unlocking every character then starting over again just because this game was so insanely fun. Games like Jet Set Radio & Future and Crazy Taxi are perfect examples of how an otherwise bland concept/premise can easily be turned into a great game with enough personality and style to make you wonder why no one has done this yet.

Fun Fact: Corn's actual name was supposed to be "Cone" (hence his cone hat and cone logo), but when they translated his name from Japanese to English, the translators mistakenly thought the Japanese meant "Corn" and that's why his name is Corn lol :p

I though that might be the case (as "Kon" is the Japanese on his shirt) - but talked to a friend, and apparently "Kon" is how you say "Corn" in Japanese. But, that would definitely make sense, haha

I've only played the PC HD version. It feels distinctly like an arcade game turned into a home console game. The way to described JSRF feels like a proper game to me and something I'd enjoy much more. I like to have some consistency in games I play. SEGA recently is hearing to fan requests (like giving PC ports of Bayonetta and Vanquish). If we shout loud enough, may they'll port JSRF to PC.
