You're right it is "sow" much easier with the trailer, I forgot how easy it was to register the trailer, wait at DMV for hours on end, constantly worrying about the tiny tires and the ski jumping around behind your truck or the trailer lights burning out for your license plate dragging on the street man it was so much easier than standing back in pressing that red button watching the ski lift into the bed by itself. I'll never make that mistake again my thumb is still tired from that button! Lol

Treated lumber does not rot, that's why it's treated...what do you think docks are made of?

This is an awesome idea. Especially if you are hauling multiple skis and need room for one more. I will likely build something very similar. However, for anyone reading this, treated wood does rot. It just rots slower than non- treated lumber. I am a building engineer so trust me when I say treated wood can still rot.

+James Taylor thanks James, although I am also an engineer degree from MIT....if treated wood rotts, why do they still use wood piles when constructing building? the wood (depending Douglas or southern pine) are treated identically with chemicals for treated lumber in hardware stores. same wood that builds piers and docks. if it rotts tour talking 100s of years. just an FYI, they used treated lumber under ancient Roman landmarks that are still standing. and we use them on job sites for pretty large building on NJ gold coast overlooking Manhattan. ice damage is the only rot I've ever seen and it was minimal. nothing a lift would experience and far less then rot rust of steel construction or oxidation of aluminum fabrication
