Hello I have a p1399 misfire and I’m worried I haven’t moved my car in days

After replacing clutch plates, bike primed the first time but won't start due to weak battery. Next day, new battery in and then bike won't prime. Any thoughts?

Prime??? What year is the bike you’re working on? The bike in this video has fuel injection not carburetor….. if you’re having an issue starting verify there’s enough gas, oil, and make sure oil sensor is still plugged in

Could have been vacuum leak or bad fuel injector
@enasoii
@enasoii 2 жыл бұрын
This fixed my problem and many others . But yes vacuum leaks and injectors are obviously items to check when troubleshooting. Being this repair is a technical service bulletin released by Acura bc of manufacturing errors, everyone with misfire reoccurrence should check this.

Great lesson my guy. I always said that KZbin’s my professor. Who needs college when you can learn step by step, hands on with demonstration. Research is key if done right, if still not positively sure, just look up one of the professors on KZbin. Hey, thanks and keep learning and teaching my guy.

Ugh! It's ok, don't stress, take your time, use a punch to find the center, start with a 1/16 drill bit and slowly increase untill it unscrews, just don't drill too deep. You can do it!

My intake manifold looked just as filthy as yours when I removed and cleaned it. I didn’t know anything about the gasket possibly being upside down though! Maybe that’s why my Check Engine Light (CEL) came back on so quickly. I had enough been able to find anything else wrong. I do hope this fixes it! Thank you!

You my friend are a saint. You've probably just saved me hundreds of dollars taking my car to the shop. I took it in the other day and they couldnt figure out what was wrong or what was causing the misfiring, after following they're recommendations I ended up spending the money and buying OEM (NGK) plugs and installing them myself. After all that I still had the same issue even after the new plugs, I had misfire codes in every cylinder and also a "Random Multiple Misfire" code and after watching this and checking out my gasket it was indeed backwards. Swapped it back the correct orientation and PRESTO like dark wizardry it's running like a CHAMP again!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I did this recently, it stopped misfiring at cold startup and now idles smoother when warm. Also, use a wet vac to remove chunks of buildup from intake and lay your silver painted cover on an old towel while cleaning. Caution, brake cleaner may damage the silver paint on cover!

Those were all cleaned and still have the same problem. Stores did not have ignition coils. Swapped front left coil to right, right to left: no improvement. Praying that ignition coils will correct the problem when I get them.

I am curious to know why you chose to solve the problem with the most expensive options; i.e. plugs and coils, first instead of doing the air plenum cleaning first.
@enasoii
@enasoii 3 жыл бұрын
Mileage would dictate replacement first. Coils and plugs should be replaced every 100,000 mi. If you haven't replaced them that's a good start You will get better fuel economy. These are known to fail

I had cleaned my intake and EGR ports about 2 years ago and thought no way they were the cause of my p1399 code and rough engine/misfires, but I followed these same steps to clean mine again just now and the rough idle went away and no more misfire. I was surprised because it wasn't even that gunked up because of the previous cleaning. But this helped for sure. THank s

So many people suspecting the ignition coils first. With these 01 and 02 acura/honda the EGR system should be your first stop. Clean the entire system from the PCV, ports down thru and to the EGR valve (and it's ports and pintle). Know how to test a coil first before condemning and replacing. Not saying it's never ignition related but that on these model years the EGR is more likely.
@Joedoriamusic
@Joedoriamusic 6 жыл бұрын
You also NEED to clean the EGR system down. The tubes clog as well. That also means cleaning the EGR valve (the pintle and ports). Just cleaning part of the system isn't the way to do this. You gotta clear the entire system. Look into a new PCV valve and make sure it's hose and ports are clear. All of this is simple stuff.

Could be a vacuum leak or the EGR issue mentioned in this video that acts as a vacuum leak and makes your engine run lean. Did you check your fuel trims to see if you are running lean or rich? You will need an OBD II scanner with diagnostics to check and record the data, but it will point you in the right direction on what to test next. I have a 2003 tl and it was running lean and had the same codes being thrown just like yours--even though mine were intermittent. Since I was running lean, I had checked the alternator and battery, and I checked the spark plug and coil swap test to see if the problem followed, but no luck. I ended up having to clean the throttle body, EGR valve and ports. Car ran much better, but I was still running lean with a misfire on cylinder 3, I suspected fuel delivery, but the evidence was still pointing to a vacuum leak--thanks OBD data. I ended up having to replace the EGR valve to resolve my issue since I couldn't get it to pop out valve cylinder to know it will come out.. Everyone's issue will be a bit different and troubleshooting multiple misfires can take some or a lot of time as there can be a lot of causes for them whether dirty, mechanical, electric or fuel delivery. I am glad to see people want his code resolved, otherwise, you could end up having to replace the cat one day when it gets clogged up and that's not cheap. Hope this helps
