I have a question 🤔 why did you go with Pickard fenders instead of the bad dad fender?..I notice bad dad fenders more expensive and the fiberglass is thicker,..is there a certain look ? Or were you going to have any issues with certain fenders? I'm thinking of going with Bagdad rear and Pickard front..but bad dad doesn't sale a smooth fender for rear 😞
@JETFILMCHANNEL Жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with the bad dad fenders, just got one for my RK and it looks awesome. They can pre-paint them too. I went with pickard to be a little different, and I liked the sleeker look. The downside to the pickard rear fender is that at stock ride height it won't look as dumped as the bad dad fender because of the higher fender sidewall. However, if you decide to layframe the bike with a bad dad fender you may run into problems with the extra sidewall touching the wheel pulley.

Nice, yeah it's a timely and expensive process. I've been working on this build for over 3 years. Lots of people want to build a cholo in a week, but unless you have an extra $15k for parts lying around and a team of mechanics then it'll take months or years. Like always, awesome video brother. What company did the pipes? Do you have to Dyno the after? Do the pipes have heat shields so they wont turn blue ? Thank you.
@JETFILMCHANNEL3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, the pipes are made by steady custom cycles. No dyno, because it really didn't change, except for 4 additional inches of pipe. No heat shields either, just like the samsons. I guess because it's straight pipe and it's far enough away from the source of the heat that they'll never get hot enough to turn blue, just my guess. We'll see though.

Almost time for my build to get underway did you use pearl in the white paint or no? Im looking at white pearl for house of kolor
@JETFILMCHANNEL3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's a HOK paint called Sno White Pearl. I had my painter double the applied coats to achieve a slightly more off-white color without getting the yellowing effect. I think it came out nicely, it's not an extreme pearl, but it's definitely there.

When you talk about measuring your pipe is that from the Tip of the fish tail to the part that goes into the head pipe or what? I have Freedom 39in and they look like the same length as your sampson 36in but they measure 39in from fishtail tip to head pipe. Just curious because i believe i may run into the fender being to long for my pipes.
@JETFILMCHANNEL3 жыл бұрын
The real way to measure it is tip to head pipe. SCC advertises their pipes 2"+ because they count the 2" that overlaps into the header. I ordered their 42" pipe, which makes it a true 40".
