You can use stock risers only if you get tapered bars to accommodate the smaller mounting diameter of the risers. My recommendation would be to get new risers, it'll look a lot better. Mine are 2"

I need these soooo bad. My Texas Chopper is 2 3/4" from the ground and I drag frame on the right turns and kickstand on the left ones. Hell, I had to buy an ultra low profile pancake jack just to get my front wheel off. Up to 3 more inches of ride height would be a dream.

I've got shotgun shocks on my 2007 cholo heritage. You are correct about the ride, its amazingly smooth when you got it setup for your personal preference. I typically only mess with the front toggle switch, I find its easier to get back to my personal ride stiffness. Ill dump the front switch when I park, takes about 30sec or so to air back up when I leave. Great video and tutorial, I subscribed after watching a few of your videos. Great content and sick ass bike bro.

One of the better videos of the shotgun shock install on a softail. I hope JD gave you a deal, just for the advertising. Did you remove your swing arm stops ? Are you still running the lawn cans on your forks? And do they cleared the new fender? Who’s front fender did you use if you don’t mind me asking? I have air ride on one of my bikes, I picked up a new compressor from JD a year ago and have not yet installed it. It’s nice to have adjustable rear suspension on the fly, especially when you hit the twisties. Then there’s the cool factor when you park it.👍

Nah no deal, I didn't tell him I was going to do a film on it. Probably should have though. And no problem with clearance with the new fender. Fenders are made by pickard. The fork cans are made by drag specialties and are 2" over stock. I touched on that in the fork lowering film. I may change things up on the front end though.

Easy install and awesome harness mine went in a little different to yours being the 07 Deluxe compressor mounts to the underside of the trans..Still working out the best ride height and rebound but lovin the slammed look you can get..look forward to a review after you have a heap of miles on it. Nice Vicla. Need that front air ride. Use your crash bar As the air tank so you don’t have to wait to build air pressure. Your up and down switches would look and feel better on your handle bars next to your switch housings. Either way your bike is Bad Ass.

Tried front air ride, didn't like it so I went back to the monotubes and made my own custom drop at about 2.5". The switches are going to change, but I've got plans for that maybe next winter.

They simplified it for the M8's. Single shock under the seat instead of 2 which is nice. New York to Myrtle beach and back without a single issue.

Tbh, very reliable other than that. May i suggest a hogfoot centre stand. It will close gap between tarmac and frame but it will sit centre

Hey friend, I’m on the fence between the 422 W/Rap and jumping into the air ride. Not sure my night train needs air but it needs some drop. You’ve rode them both minus the the quick ability to adjust the 422. Is the ride quality comparable? I’m also drawn to the legends because they are a nitrogen shock BUT I’m not any lower. What’s your two cents friend?

I wouldn't bother with the RAP 422s, at that price point you might as well get air ride for a few hundred more. It all depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to slam it, then air ride. If you want to lower it a little and save a lot of money then the 422 RAP. The legends are a great system too

Definitely thinking about hardbags, especially lately. I think they can really look good on a softail if done properly. Maybe sooner than later. Sams road king will appear in the next film about our trip to myrtle beach, he had it painted and did a few more mods to it since it was last on camera. I'm going to try to get that bike on film a lot more this summer

Thanks bro, my best advice would be to literally scour the internet for pictures and videos and get a really "clear" idea of how you want yours to look like. Personally, I changed my mind a few times during the course of this build and it cost me thousands of dollars to replace parts that I already replaced. For example, this bike has had 4 exhaust systems in the last 3 years, 3 intakes, 3 floorboards. Just to name a few

Hi John , when your riding with the bike low do you get much wobble and weave, I done the front lowering trick you done but get bad wobble at 60 mile ,I have the rear fixed hight but was wondering if the air ride will combat it as I think it is , any input would be appreciated .

No wobble except for the most extreme circumstances. Wobbles can be caused by so many things What size wheel do you have, how are your tires? I used to get a low frequency wobble around turns caused by old tires.

Thanks, the forks have the progressive monotunes in them. I did some custom work to them last fall to get them to drop about 2.5". Then I added extra long upper fork sliders to cover the mid fork "hump" entirely. Made a film on that, you might it interesting
