A world-changing, historic, and hugely significant record that bemused, baffled, and belittled the morons of the music press, who all panned it mercilessly because they simply did not understand it. They were like Monkeys invited to a formal dinner. They looked for bananas but were offered caviare. A masterpiece, which reveals something you'd overlooked every time you listen to it. Well done Ian and the boys. You have changed my life for the better, and the same applies to millions all over the world who have been lucky enough to discover Jethro Tull, the world's best ever Rock band.

I have never seen a more perfect commentary on this wonderful piece of musical madness - though robertduda6336 certainly is good company. On behalf of the millions you spoke of, thank you.

I just noticed something. I looked at the Concert Bill and I was at ONE of these concerts, but I don't know which one. It was AWESOME.

Ian strutting, strumming, saxing, tooting and twirling and whirling. Sporting a Fiery mane that would put any “Hippie” wannabe to shame. Saw the show at Chicago Stadium September 4th, 1973 and it blew my ass away. That place can get so loud with its natural built in acoustics my head was still humming when I went to school the next day. To this day I have had such a disdain for the critics who shredded this Opus in their jealous ignorance. At this point Tull was at their Zenith and in my humble opinion they were trashed simply because they didn’t cower, kiss ass of the powers that be. This was a time when artists would be sensationalized with lurid tales of drug induced musical prowess, debauchery and tabloid intrigue. Tull was tight to the vest, hard to pigeon hole and not really wanting to be left open to that game of exploitation good or bad, so the critics brought the bad hard and heavy to knock them off the summit. How could anyone with any “lyrical and musical” background not see the brilliance in performance not only of Anderson himself, but Barre’s intricate pluckings of the axe in all manner’s of fretwork in odd time signatures, Evans virtuosity on the ivory’s and Barry ripping the skin’s keeping it nice and tidy. I’ll even give Jeffery props for style and effect and his Hare whimsical oratory. Those that hear what I heard and saw what I saw get my feelings on this brilliant performance. I don’t give a bloody hell what those pinheads saw or thought.

"Well said" doesn't begin to cover the astuteness of these observations. Bravo Robert, and shame on the shallow-minded, fake-anti-establishment music critics.

Ian Anderson has always been persona non grata with the middle class, trendy, philistine Music Press scribblers because : 1) He doesn't take drugs; 2) He has refused to adopt an American accent when singing like countless other so-called English performers; 3) He has eschewed commercialism and the middle of the road garbage that these peabrained scribblers worship. In a nutshell, he's a Giant amongst Pygmies. A genius, and the most significant musical creator and innovator of the past 50 years, bar none.

Read your comment about YT's mix, SB - but must say ahead of doing what you suggest - this is by far the cleanest, clearest, most crisp rendition of APP I've ever heard - BRAVO, SIR!! "...And we thank you!" I really appreciated it in the second flute solo!

I must say many thanks and you certainly know your Tull! The wav download is the best source and sometimes YT plays games w sound. The audio is most important in this endeavor and if the video is better than average, I had the time to go beyond just showing the album cover, Lol. My goal for APP was to give it more of a live feel and put the sax out front just like the live shows. Many more to come!!! Regards SB

@@stevebuckley5004 Excellent job, Steve. Wonderful to discover tones that I didn't notice for almost 50 years! And you wiped away the excesses and highlighted some of the parts I like the most. Thanks man.

In good time. It is planned but will be a few months. New videos will cycle thru in chronological order from the late 60s to the early 80s and then begin again.
