Steffan Pila Jethro Tull should release "This Is Not A Test" as a 2 CD Set. That is something me and many longtime Jethro Tull Fans would love to see to be released. Who's with me on the Live 1980 "This Is Not A Test" 2 CD Bootleg. Thank you!!!

I know your comment is a year old but yes, I would love to see this actually released. This particular tour was one of my favourites and I easily disappear into the audience when I listen to this particular recording!

While you guys were out frolliking at a concert, I was stuck in my room listening to a recording of this material / lineup after taping it off the radio (King Biscuit Flower Hour, IIRC). At the time it seemed all bands were in transition, from trying various musical forms down to haircuts but this seemed to be about listening to people who took issue with 70's excess- be it long concert solos or complaints about "psuedo-'classical genius' affectations" and instead of bowing to the pressure and going more punk or yuppie or even apologizing they really focused and let it make them stronger. At an impressionable age, I wasn't so smitten with "Bungle in The Jungle" but I had friends I respected who worshiped these guys so I felt like I was seeing (hearing, technically) what all of the hooplah was about, as this seemed to launch one to new realms with a refreshing level of intensity and creativity which I found as memorable as some of their earlier heavier riffs. As it happened, I don't think the rest of the USA was ready to throw cash and this tape faded as I lost touch with it until I heard it again early one morning through the dormitory door of a flautist music major- an (US) army brat (i.e. lived/grew up in an Army base - sometimes many, thanks to his Dad, who was in the Army: In this case in Germany) who, upon inquiry, reassured me Jethro Tull was a going concern in Europe: Famous celebrities who could book every night in the biggest arenas, but instead chose to tour constantly in a sort of mobile renaissance fair / musical caravan, meeting their fans halfway... His tape had nothing to do with King Biscuit Flour Hour and it was "AM" mono but unfortunately I couldn't find mine ("FM" stereo -> decent cassette), as his roommate's most excellent hi-fi system revealed various analog limitations in his source material etc etc. Alas: He didn't make it to the end of the semester... A couple of years later Jethro indeed made it big USA-style as he Lost the Farm as it Became the Freeway, thus peeving a very entitled-looking trans-Atlantic corporation by (allegedly) stealing their Heavy Metal crown... But although I can't garauntee this 2cd show will Itself be sold, apparently they are soon to unfurl a remaster of "A" with some accompanying live concert discs ~Woo Hoo!~ (April 16 2021 on Amazon): jethrotull.com/jethro-tull-a-40th-anniversary-edition/

This find is getting me through this week. Their rhythm felt a bit off for Fylingdale Flyer and I don't even care, I've been hunting for a live version for a year! Now if only I could find North Sea Oil and Kelpie live and not dubbed..
