lets be realistic, candid, whatever you want to call it. Ian Anderson was the greatest live rock performer EVER. Millions and millions and millions of albums sold and they still won't put him into the R&R hall of fame. He is really so far above those that are in there, its just the principle really. A legend. They should make a movie about Jethro Tull. There was nobody even close to them

I made a similar comment about Ian being the best showman to have been born on this earth, on top of Mercury, Daltrey even Marriot, M. Jackson (don't like his style but have to give merits for showmanship) or Plant (whom honestly shouldn't be on this list). Ian's glorious character is so unique and unmatchable that we shouldn't even dare to compare him

I could care less if Tull gets put into the RRHOF as far as I'm concerned that means nothing to me.... they know absolutely nothing & the RRHOF is a sham.... always was & always will be.... We Tull fans know how great their contribution to the music scene was & that's good enough for me...

I saw this tour, in Boulder Colorado. Roughly a mile above sea level. I was 6 months pregnant, with my first child. Ian Anderson was flawless. The band was flawless, but he was leaping around the stage, without missing a note. Dancing with the broadsword at an altitude that professional athletes have trouble with. We named the child Ian. ❤❤❤

It is great to hear from fellow Tull fans. Keep the flame burning. Ian Anderson is a musical genius who has never received the credit he deserves because he refused to be drawn into the superficial, shallow, and meretricious fantasy world of "pop music." He is on a par with Lennon and McCartney as a song-writer, although he has his own unique, idiosyncratic mode of song-writing, that noone has come close to. So to all my fellow holders of this secret withheld from the masses, I say "pass the word around." Don't keep it to yourself.

Such a talent. And I heard at one time was better off financially than Michael Jackson or Paul Mccartney due to Salmon farms. He didnt care for David Bowie😆. But then, who did? Has lung cancer blamed on fog machines on stage. What a shame. Truly one of music's greatest entertainers of all time

Interestingly enough (and welcome) Tull resists having to platy the expected classics and still bangs out a real terrific and refreshing show. Martin Barre as always kills and is one of the greatest guitarists of his era.

I always admired Tull for playing a good chunk of their newest album on tour, including instrumental pieces and solo spots that were unique to that tour. Of course there are those 5 or 6 songs that they would always have to play, but that's to be expected.

Tull flourished for decades behind the stellar musicianship of Anderson and Barre. These two are as good a duo as any in rock. The number of genres that Tull dabbled in over the years is pretty long. From the blues-based first couple of albums, Tull branched into folk, folk-rock, progressive rock and hard rock. I went to more than a couple of Tull shows and Martin always puts on an entertaining performance as does Ian. I saw Martin Barre not too long ago and he's still at the top of his game.

Got a booster shot of cultural genius from these Druids at the Chicago Stadium in 1976. My first time, tho, was in 1971, at michigan state university's jenison fieldhouse. (Shared billing with some misogynistic slob.) Bizarrely, campus paper headlined their coverage "Meatloaf wows crowd!"

It was tremendous on passion play. You can actually hear him struggle to hit some notes in early 80s, it’s still listenable though. It became unlistenable in 90s and just cringe from 2000s. I say this with great pain, Anderson is my favorite musician

I consider myself to be a disciple of Tull and I spread the gospel of my earthly God Ian Anderson to so many people I’ve met since 1971 and continue to do it to this day-especially those who are younger (15 to 40). And I’m able to do this on my job (cashier at a gas station/convenience store). I play Tull on my phone and some customers recognize it which sparks a conversation about the band and the music. Sometimes I play my flute in front of the customers and encourage all of them to check out the vast array of the band’s music by album as well as the live performances on video. So far I haven’t heard anything from those who I urged to check out the band, but it will come

Saw them on this tour in Connecticut at New Haven Coliseum, in September '82. What a great show, they had the full stage set with the ship and the beast head at the bow and the four faces from the album cover, framed in square boxes above the stage. The show began with Martin Barre playing guitar standing on the beast head at the bow of the ship/stage. Martin reached a crescendo as the volume slowly increased, Then strobe lights flashed and deafening thunder & lightning shook the coliseum for what seemed like minutes, but was probably only about 20 seconds. A moment of darkness and then spotlight on Martin as he tears into the opening Riff of 'Somethings on The Move' from Stormwatch. Very impressive! WOW!

The opening here of The Clasp is true to the UK tour of May 1982, but that August at the unique Nostell Priory festival in Yorkshire, the opener was indeed Something’s On The Move, preceded by IA side stage with bagpipe prelude. Sealdriver into Heavy Horses on this video is particularly poignant of that great tour.

I saw JT over a dozen times, and this tour was my favorite because of the awesome stage show. I've been looking for a FULL video of the 1982 show ever since, and this is the closest thing I've found. Maybe for the 40th anniversary edition of Broadsword Ian will release the full official concert??? One could only hope. I will never forget Ian coming out dressing like "Aqualung" and pulling a mandolin out of a trash can (after a fish bone) and "sitting on the park bench". Later joined by Martin as another hobo (or perhaps it was the other way around) on a lute, and together breaking into "Fat Man". I had goosebumps!! Just awesome!

Saw this tour in Buffalo and Rochester NY. Ian's voice was clear as a bell. Fantastic show. I love(d)a lot of new wave and alternative, too (more "au courant") but my roots are "prog" and Tull specifically.

I saw Tull in Worcester mass 1986. Guy rushed the stage, Ian grabbed him by the collar and threw him off backwards into the crowd! In the middle of a verse! Never broke character…amazing. Music was lackluster though.

Steffan Pila You're Welcome, Remy Tena. I'm hoping Jethro Tull can do a Special Deluxe Edition on "Stormwatch". To me, that is one of Jethro Tull's finest and most intense album that I ever heard. The Special Deluxe Edition of "Stormwatch" should included 2 CDS and 1 DVD. It should feature the Hammersmith Odeon Concert from 1980 supporting the "Stormwatch" Tour. That would be so awesome. Fingers Crossed!!! Make it happen, Mr. Ian Anderson!!! Cheers!!!!
