A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ KZbin. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of KZbin I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on KZbin won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This KZbin channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

Sir; there is only one Ian Anderson. There was only one Jethro Tull. Its like listening to an electric Bard. His shows were art. flaming hair, crazy look in his eyes, and standing on one foot while he played his flute, telling us tales. All the while dressed in some sort of Dickensian garb. Authentic and original. Great reaction!

...and there are more than 20 other albums too, several are even better than Aqualung. In the late 60's Ian Anderson realized he would never play guitar like Eric Clapton, he wanted another instrument that could play up front and stand out, so he traded a guitar for his first flute and learned to play it by himself.

Don't forget Ian was inspired by the playing of jazz master Rahsam Roland Kirk originally with his melding of breathy vocalizations with the playing of the flute simultaneously. That's where Ian got "Serenade for a Cuckoo", his first foray into flute performance. Kirk first wrote and recorded that song.

Freddy Mercury, Elvis Presley, Mick Jagger, Ann Wilson, Roger Daltrey, Johnny Cash, Peter Wolf, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Robert Plant, Willie Nelson, David Lee Roth, Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Garcia, and many many others. It is very hard to take your eyes off of Ian Anderson when he always holds the crowd in the palm of his hand. His over the top moves, his musical and singing talents and ability and his overall stage presence place him #2 or #3 of the best I have ever witnessed. Anderson brought the flute to life in an extraordinary way. As he played, he literally spoke, sang, and hummed the notes into the mouthpiece of his flute. Jethro Tull is my dad's favorite band ever. I don't think anyone else has played the flute like Ian Anderson, lol. His nickname was "The Flamingo on Speed" b/c he used to play the flute while standing on one leg. It's what Tull is known for. Was lucky enough to see them live twice in the 90s, before his voice gave up on him.

"Disco Jazz" by Brick is an excellent song with a flute in it, but Ian Anderson is the king of the rock n roll flute

I saw Jethro Tull live twice (1978 & 1980) and Ian Anderson is a master front man. He sings, plays guitar and is an excellent, self taught flutist. He also wrote just about every song in Tull's catalog. Now, watch the video of Jethro Tull live at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970 (est. attendance of 600,000+). Much concert footage of Tull in the 70s exists on KZbin. Enjoy! 💙💙💙

Rock and roll storytellers. Seen Tull twice. Once in the mid 90s and again in 2012 at Red Rocks in Denver. UNBELIEVABLE Ian Anderson still kicked it!!!

Jethro Tull has been one of my favorite rock bands since I first heard them in in the early 70’s. Hearing them on a vinyl record/8Track/cassette/cd/etc. is great. But the real joy comes from seeing them live. Ian Anderson, the mad pied piper, is incredible. So sad that he now has an incurable lung condition which compromises his ability to sing (more so than play the flute) but it still brings joy to the soul to watch him in recent years. Masterful!!!

At 5:22 when you say."My mind is COMPLETELY SCATTERED!" Back in '71, when I was 17, this was the first song I ever heard using headphones, and I would have said, "my mind was completely BLOWN AWAY!"

I keep seeing "musical genius" mentioned in comments about Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson and I have to agree. In my mind Tull stands on a different level than all other rock bands. I've been enjoying his music since the late 60s. Good to see young people discover this amazing band.

Ian Anderson's mad flute skills are what makes Jethro Tull's sound unique. "Cross-Eyed Mary" is another great JT flute song... or for something sweeter, one of the most beautiful love songs ever written, "Reasons For Waiting".

Ian Anderson is amazing. It is WELL worth your time to watch a live version of the next Tull song you do b/c you will be amazed at his energy and his voice is one of those rare ones that sounds exactly the same live as in studio. "Cross Eyed Mary; Bungle in the Jungle; Thick as a Brick; and of course Aqualung" are some great tunes
