Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

From what I read about Benefit is that it is a little bit underrated. For me I can't see why. There are a lot of great Songs on it. This here and 'With you there to help me ', Nothing to say', 'For Michael Collins Jeffrey and me' or ' Sossity, you're a woman' are also very good too.

What a groovy combination of psychedelia and grunge! One of Tull's many iconic tracks. Martin is laying it on thick.

Benefit is actually Tull's 3rd lp. Stand up being their 2nd and the first to feature Martin Barre (sounds like Bar) Tull's first lp is called "This Was"

This was one of the very few songs that Ian played electric guitar on, along with Martin Barre. (pronounced Bar). Benefit was their 3rd album after This Was and Stand Up. Great reaction!

Big shout out to whoever requested this. About time the good Tull is played. Won't go into all the facts you got wrong, that's already posted here but this song to me is all about Ian Anderson who wrote it. He's been on the road, he just arrived back to London town and is trying to get home to cry his baby a song. Jethro Tull was simple story telling Blues/Jazz/Rock. Every song was different in their first five albums and each album was different from each other. Personally their albums became redundant as they locked into this marching beat rhythm after an album called Thick as a Brick that carried on well into the 1980s. Not saying they didn't have a few good songs after their first 5 lp's, but the band personel had changed and they were too fantastical for my tastes which has always been Blues Rock with a little Country Rock. Anyway loved you did this. Loved em back when I was discovering music. Nobody else sound like em in the world thats for sure. Peace

JT was immensely popular at this time. I saw them twice back in the day. Martin did a guitar solo that for whatever reason was ear-splitting. People were blocking their ears. I believe I read somewhere that he liked to solve calculus problems for fun. Ian was a first rate showman, you really got your moneys worth. Wild and eccentric onstage he was a quietly intelligent gentleman in "real" life. A stark contrast to the degeneracy of most "rock stars"

Never get tired of hearing this song. Thanks for the reaction. You might want to check out Mother Goose and Up To Me off Aqualung if you haven’t had a chance yet. Classic Tull!✌️❤️🔥

Great song, I haven’t heard this in quite a while. Jethro Tull was my favorite band as a teen in the 70s! So many great songs to choose from: “Nothing is Easy”, “Cross Eyed Mary”, “Bouree”, “Minstrel in the Gallery” … I could go on and on!!!

The Benefit album was my favorite of their's, offering the Jethro Tull "Sound" that I thought was their best. Just listening to the whole album gives a vibe that boasts of creativity & even 'progressive' change ups. I also like how their bass player on this album seemed to have a more prominent role than in later albums. *Nothing To Say* is probably my favorite

This album was released in April of 1970, right after I turned 20. I was introduced to this album by a friend, and needless to say, I was absolutely blown away! I am 73 today, and this album is STILL one of the best ever with some of the best musicianship ever. Thank you for reacting to it.

I don't know if there are any keys on this song, but John Evan played keyboards on the Benefit album, while not yet a member of Jethro Tull. He was a bandmember beginning with the next albu, Aqualung (1971) to 1978, when he quite to pay Beethoven sonatas. The bassist on this album Glenn Cornick, who would soon leave, is also credited with organ on Benefit. Could this be the song?

My favorite Tull album hands down. I consider this Martin Barre's masterpiece. He explodes off this album, chords, riffs, solos that are nothing less than spectacular. I bought this from my neighborhood record store in 1970 and consider it one of my best purchases.

Mick Abrahams was the guitarist on the first album. Martin Barre played electric guitar starting with the second album. Ian Anderson plays acoustic guitar. They were originally a 4 piece band, but added a keyboard player on the 4th album (Aqualung). Fun fact: for a short while in between the first and second albums, Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) played guitar. You can see this lineup on the ROLLING STONES ROCK AND ROLL CIRCUS.

Aaah! This takes me back to my High School Art Class! Our teacher let us use music to help inspire our work. Jethro Tull was played heavily. Lots of British Blues like Zeppelin, Cream, John Mayall, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, etc. Those were "heady" days, as we expanded our consciousness.
