Evana is from Indonesia, so the moment she taste the foods she can exactly pin-point what is in the ingredients, I'm amazed by how accurate her guesses are eg. the fish-coconut thing stuffed in green chilli(solok lada). Coz these foods and flavours are very familiar to her coz foods from this region pretty much uses similar ingredients.

Next time, for a foreignor especially westerner, always ask for the kuah (gravy or sauce) to be put in separate small bowl or by the side of rice. When you've determined you like it then you mix with rice as you wish. Some people like me dislike rice dish or food so wet n mushy. It's like rice has been invaded by enemies.

If you still over there, I would suggest if you come back from Pulau Kapas to Kuala Terengganu, you can try 'Celup Tepung' which is quite famous if locals go to Terengganu. 'Celup Tepung' is actually deep fried seafood.. You can choose between squid, fish, prawn, etc.. But the best one if you pick squid.. This is only suggestion since I'm not sure if you like seafood.. You can try search 'Warung Pok Nong'.. The restaurant quite famous in Terengganu.. which located beside the beach.. There's also sauce that you can try which local people in Kelantan and Terengganu usually eat with rice its call 'Budu' (fermented fish) and 'Tempoyak' (fermented durian) or mixed this two sauces together to add more flavour when eating with rice.. There's also other local food you can try in Terengganu.. You can check this video for the guides when in Terengganu which gonna help you in searching for local food: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2jEdJaHhtZ7gpo He also is a traveller trying local food in Terengganu guided by locals over there..
@amir14074 жыл бұрын
Ohh yaa.. forgot to mention.. 'Nasi Lemak' in Terengganu is different from in Kuala Lumpur.. 'Nasi Lemak' in Terengganu they eat with fish .. The 'sambal' taste also different.. It is more sweet.. You can try it.. You can also do activity 'Candat Sotong' in Terengganu.. They will take you in a boat for a night and go for fishing which mainly for squid in the ocean.. But this one you need to ask the locals over there whether it is now 'Candat Sotong' season or not.. if not, you can skip this activity since it is hard to find the squid.. This is just for your experience if you like it.. And if you want to experience to sleep in a boat, you can go to 'Tasik Kenyir'.. They provide houseboat.. But it may a bit pricey for you guys since usually it is a big group activity around 20 peoples per houseboat..

I'm am so glad that you guys actually go and try eat at an actual Malay food stall/ restaurant. Most tourist who comes to Malaysia will mostly go to Chinese Restaurant to try Malay food just coz they able to drink alcohol drinks while they eat.... Like it in KL, I've seen a few bloggers would only try to eat nasi lemak at Jalan Alor , KL and said they try nasi lemak, however, they only try it at a Chinese Restaurant. In all seriousness, nasi lemak is a Malay traditional food, and there is no such thing as eating nasi lemak with pork. So those Chinese restaurant kinda ruin the authenticity of nasi lemak.. . Its fine if you want to experience Chinese food at Jalan Alor, KL, but somehow if you want to experience true Malay food, go to a Malay restaurant, if you want to taste Indian food, go to Indian or Mamak restaurant... Just saying... Anyway, i am happy that both of you guys really experience our cultural in their natural environment... By the way, you guys are improving eating with your fingers.... !!

When you share food, don't mixed all off it together. Just mix half of if for yourself and the half your partner will mix it separately on her own. It's like "sharing love with your partner with dignity". Unless you spoon feed your partner. Otherwise that's look like leftover. This is the soft skill in the forgotten culture.
